Isabel felt a little out of touch with the younger generation, but she didn't let it bother her.

Everyone had their own preferences, and as long as it didn't harm her, she let it go.

When she saw Dylan again, she thanked him sincerely.

“Y-2 will still be published under your name when it's done.”

Dylan glanced at her. “I don't need your charity. You really think I've done nothing for the past six years?”

Isabel smiled. “Right, right. Dylan, the genius who skipped grades to get here, is obviously way more capable than a mere undergrad like me.”

“Cut it out,” Dylan said, using facial recognition to enter Lab 1. He added Isabel's face to the system. “Your lab coat is still here. Same locker, nothing's changed.”

Isabel took the wristband he handed her and went inside to look.

Her eyes instantly welled up.

But she forced the tears back. Crying wouldn't change anything; time wouldn't turn back.

She had to look forward.

“I’ve read all the materials you sent me, so I’m up to speed. I can assist you with the experiment until my right hand heals.”

Dylan raised an eyebrow. “A day where I get to be assisted by you. That sounds nice. Work hard, Isabel.”

Isabel couldn't help but shoot him a glare.

Martha followed Isabel's instructions, avoiding the foods Oliver disliked and preparing a light meal, which she delivered to Dominion Military Hospital.

But when Oliver didn't see any superheroes or fighting monsters, he stubbornly refused to eat.

He just burrowed under the covers in a huff.

Martha shrank back under Adrian's icy gaze. “I don't know how to make those things...”

Adrian said, “That’s for you to figure out.”

Martha had no choice but to contact Isabel again.
