Blizzard, First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 40

Daniel was rather surprised when he arrived to pick him up.

Only a few minutes had passed.

Adrian had skipped an important meeting to come here, so Daniel had assumed he'd at least be staying for dinner with Selena.

But he didn't ask any questions.

Best not to poke the bear.

Dylan drove Isabel home.

Old Mr. Foster sat in the back, and Isabel chatted with him about some pharmaceutical matters.

She said apologetically, “I'm so sorry, Old Mr. Foster. I overheard something and lost my temper. You didn't even get to finish your meal. When you have time, I'd like to treat you again. Not out, but at my home. I'll cook myself, so it won't cause any trouble for you.”

Old Mr. Foster wasn't interested in the drama between her, Selena, and Adrian.

He just asked, “You're serious about this divorce, right? You're not just throwing a tantrum, waiting for him to console you?”

Isabel shook her head vehemently. “I'm serious. It's just that he thinks I'm doing it to target Selena, who just came back. And you found out, so she probably said something to him. He thinks I'm just making a scene, so every time I bring up the divorce, he gets angry... but I'll resolve it as soon as I can.”

Old Mr. Foster snorted indignantly. “Was a man like him really worth giving up everything to marry?”

Isabel fiddled with her nose. “He... he just doesn't love me. But he is an excellent man...”

It was the truth, but she said it with little conviction.

Old Mr. Foster and Old Mr. Blackwell had known each other back in the day.

Adrian was the youngest grandson, a miracle child born after Mrs. Blackwell had an IUD inserted following the birth of her twins.

He was born holding the IUD and showed signs of genius from a young age.

The Blackwell family considered him a great blessing.

But Old Mr. Blackwell didn't live to see Adrian in his prime.
