Blizzard, First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 56

After Oliver started spending more time with him, she would contact Oliver instead.

Now that Oliver could no longer serve as a messenger, she had no reason to contact Adrian.

But she had memorized his assistant’s number right after they got married.

Whenever she couldn't reach him, or when he refused to communicate but she had to relay a message from old Mrs. Blackwell, it was Daniel who acted as the intermediary.

It made her feel more like an employee than a wife.

So when she saw Daniel’s name on her screen, she assumed it was time to finalize the divorce and answered immediately. “Daniel...”

The rest of her sentence was cut off by a man’s icy voice. “Isabel, what the hell are you trying to do?”

Isabel was completely baffled. As far as she knew, she hadn't done anything to his precious darling today.

Accused out of the blue, her own temper flared. “What’s your problem?”

Adrian was unfazed, his voice remaining cold. “What do you mean by telling everyone about the divorce?”

Isabel understood now.

Mrs. Blackwell must have gone to see him.

But she was innocent in this.

She hadn't asked how Mrs. Blackwell found out.

Ultimately, the outcome was divorce, and sooner or later, all the Blackwells would know.

“What’s the big deal if your mother knows? As long as the public doesn’t find out, it’s fine. Don’t worry, no one is going to call your childhood friend a homewrecker.”

Adrian scoffed. “If you really wanted a divorce, you wouldn’t be making sure everyone knows. There’s no such thing as a secret that lasts forever. When this gets out, can you bear the responsibility?”

Isabel truly didn't understand his logic.

Why was he so fixated on this point?

If he would just finalize the divorce now and marry Selena, then even if a few rumors leaked, his status would allow him to spin the story any way he wanted.
