Adrian had someone pack up the table, then said to her gently, "I'll find someone else for you. Don't worry."
Selena smiled knowingly. "Adrian, you're so good to me."
Adrian's group left.
The car couldn't drive all the way in, so it was parked on the main road outside.
It wasn't far from Westbridge, so they had driven.
Once they were in the car, Selena saw he was still holding the flatbread and offered, "Adrian, let me throw that away for you."
Adrian stopped her. "I've never had this before. It's not bad."
With that, he started eating it.
He took large bites, yet it didn't look crude.
He had an innate nobility and elegance.
Paired with his handsome face, it was quite captivating.
Although Selena didn't want to marry him, having a man like this wrapped around her finger filled her with a pride that was hard to contain.
As she watched him, she leaned in closer. "I've never had it either. Is it really that good? Let me have a taste?"
Adrian moved away, quickly finishing it and taking a bottle of water to drink.
After swallowing, he said, "It's too dry. Not good."
Then, he had someone bring her a more refined meal.
"You eat this."
Selena was basking in happiness and didn't give the flatbread a second thought.
She hadn't really wanted to eat it anyway.
She was just using it as an excuse to get closer, thinking it would lead to a kiss.
It was important to give him a little encouragement now and then.
You couldn't just keep him on the line without any reward.
But it didn't matter.
There would be other opportunities.
