Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 128

Giselle stepped outside. She was just about to head to the finance office to pay when she realized her dog was gone.

Eastin had come with her into the after-sales lounge when they got out of the car earlier. But while she was arguing with Gideon, she hadn't noticed when it slipped out.

She called out its name a few times, then walked over to the open area outside the dealership. She scanned around, only to spot it in a secluded corner.

But just as she was about to walk over and put it on a leash, Gideon suddenly shot past her. In just a few strides, he appeared beside it and kicked it hard.

He'd kicked Eastin so hard that poor Eastin was sent flying several feet, landing flat on its back.

Having witnessed this scene, Giselle was seething. She rushed forward and scooped up her dog, stroking its head and checking for injuries. The poor thing was clearly in pain, whimpering hoarsely.

She shot up, ready to storm over and tear into that bastard—only to find him crouched nearby, comforting and examining a female dog. He looked as if someone had just punched the living daylights out of him.

Just then, a female car sales rep sidled up to Giselle and whispered, "Ms. Holt, you need to keep your dog from running around. Mr. Grayson also has a dog—it's his most treasured pet, and it's more precious to him than anything.

"Most people don't even dare touch it, and just now your dog—"

Realization finally dawned on Giselle. So this seemingly unruly man kept a dog and had even brought it here today.

As an experienced vet, she immediately recognized his dog as an Alaskan Malamute. It was indeed strikingly beautiful and very well cared for.

"So this mutt belongs to you?" he snarled, still seething.

It was like watching his beloved daughter getting defiled by a rogue…

Still, seeing that she shared the same love for dogs, he found himself a little more intrigued by her.

"Ms. Holt, let's set the dog issue aside for now," he said calmly, rising to his feet and approaching her. "Let's get back to today's business—"

"No need." Giselle cut him off, turning away with a dismissive glance. "I already made it clear earlier—I'm only paying 100,000 dollars today. If you want the rest, sue me. I'll pay up if you win, and I'll even cover your legal fees. Happy now?"

Gideon, however, wasn't annoyed by her unreasonable attitude. He sized her up again, a mischievous smile tugging at his lips.

He stared at her for quite a while. With all the patience she could muster, he said, "Fine. Have it your way—I'll sue you. But be ready that during the trial, we'll have to stay in constant contact."

To him, this lawsuit was the perfect excuse to have a legitimate reason to keep getting involved with her. He had no reason to refuse.
