"What's Gideon's background?" Giselle inquired.
Vivienne casually answered, "I caught a glimpse of him the last time I went to that club with Sebastian. To be honest, he's quite handsome.
"He had a model under each arm and acted like a mafia boss. He had a whole crowd fawning over him."
After hearing that, Giselle couldn't help but recall her own encounter with Gideon. The memory left a bitter taste in her mouth.
"So, what's his background? Is he one of those trust-fund kids?" she asked as she sipped her water.
"I don't think so," Vivienne responded based on the bits she'd picked up from Sebastian. "Word is, he isn't from a notable family, but he has a badass godfather. The guy is supposedly a super-rich tycoon in the pharmaceutical industry.
"No one dares mess with him. Even someone as arrogant as Sebastian has to play second fiddle!"
Giselle fell silent and started eating her food, lost in thought.
"Why are you asking so many questions? Are you interested in him?" Vivienne teased.
"Absolutely not!"
Vivienne chuckled. "Please, with your looks, you could totally go for him. I'm sure you'd definitely win him over!
"Besides, Sebastian knows him well. He could help set you up."
"Since when did you become a matchmaking lunatic?" Giselle grumbled.
"Look, I'm just trying to help you! You've messed around with someone like Donovan. Do you think average Joes will catch your attention?
At that moment, the male and her own female dog were playing together happily. It was almost as if they had already mated, because the floor was extremely dirty.
Giselle took in the scene before her and felt a little awkward and uneasy. After cleaning up the floor, she pulled out her phone and took a picture.
Then, she sent it to Gideon. "Your dog showed up at my place. Come get him."
He didn't reply. Giselle wasn't sure if he was busy or if he was simply used to ignoring people he considered beneath him and didn't bother to respond.
Whatever the reason, she didn't dwell on it. Giselle headed to the kitchen, pulled out some beef from the fridge, and expertly whipped up two servings of dog food before placing them in front of the dogs.
Right when the pups were digging in, someone banged violently on the door, almost as if they were a debt collector trying to break in.
Giselle peeked through the peephole and was surprised to see a familiar face—Gideon. Knowing why he was here, she opened the door without a second thought.
