Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 135

"How did you find out where I live?" Giselle asked the moment she opened the door.

Gideon couldn't be bothered to answer her question. He barged into her house, eyes scanning the room until they landed on his dog.

The moment he spotted his Malamute munching away, he rushed over and scooped it up into his arms. "What the hell are you feeding it?" he asked warily, as if her pet food might poison his dog.

"Are you blind? I made it myself! It's way healthier than all that imported, additive-filled junk you feed it!" she snapped.

Gideon petted his dog and realized that aside from being a little dirty, it was fine. He let out a breath of relief.

To be honest, the dog looked like a cool accessory in his arms. It kind of suited him.

"Mind telling me why my dog ended up at your place?" he demanded.

"You, too, showed up at my place uninvited. Seems your dog takes after you." Giselle rolled her eyes and urged, "Anyhow, since you found it, take it and leave. Don't mess up my place!"

Gideon, however, tried to weasel out of responsibility and questioned, "What, your son took advantage of my daughter, and you're not going to take responsibility as his mom? You're just going to kick us out after the deed's been done?"

"Are you out of your mind? Your dog's been roaming everywhere and clinging to mine like glue. I only found out this morning that he had sneaked into my house!

"If your dog can't behave, that's on you. Don't you dare pin it on us!"

"That's not my problem." Carrying his dog, he walked up to her with a devilish smile on his face. "If my daughter ends up carrying some mutt's pup, I'll make that mutt's mom carry mine too. It's only fair."

Giselle was this close to losing it. "Don't worry. My dog's been neutered for ages.

"He's well-behaved, loyal, and a real gentleman. He's definitely more classy than you!"

Gideon didn't mind being called a male dog. "Sure, keep telling yourself that. I think I should start calling you Ms. Denial."

Giselle was in her usual BMW 3 Series. Gideon, on the other hand, had switched to a Bentley Continental this time.

He probably had a fleet of luxury cars and liked to switch them up every day. So, she couldn't understand why he was so petty, fussing over the car repair bill…

An hour later, the couple arrived at a luxury mountain resort in the suburbs.

Giselle had followed Gideon's car all the way here, and they pulled into the parking lot at almost the same time. There was a spot closer to the entrance, and he was pretty chivalrous to let her take it while he parked farther away.

The whole parking lot was filled with expensive cars worth millions of dollars. As she eased into the space, she made sure to be extra careful, as one tiny scratch could cost her a fortune.

However, when she was backing into the spot, she was surprised to see a familiar Rolls-Royce Cullinan parked right next to her in the rearview mirror. Its license plate was one she was familiar with, too.
