Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 160

After being detained, Giselle was completely cut off from the outside world. The only person who knew what had happened was her best friend, Vivienne.

Vivienne had gone to the police station that day and managed to get a rough idea of why Giselle was being detained. Vivienne wanted to save her, but she didn't have any connections or money.

Then, on the third day, her phone rang. When she took a look at her screen, she noticed it was an unknown number calling. "Hello. May I know who's calling?" she asked.

"It's Gideon," the man said quietly over the phone. "I haven't been able to reach Giselle in the past three days. I even went to her place, but no one was there. Do you know where she is?"

Vivienne froze for a moment before realizing who he was and what his relationship with Giselle was. Hence, she cleared her throat and said respectfully, "Oh, Mr. Grayson! To be honest, something has happened to Giselle. She's been detained due to a case."

"What case?"

"The cops said she's suspected of planting banned substances at Kane Group's research and development center. She was reported by their CEO. It's quite serious… She will most likely face jail time. I have no way to help her right now."

"Kane Group?" Gideon repeated coldly. "Why would she have a conflict with them?"

"That's enough." Gideon caught on as soon as he heard the word "ex". He also realized who the man he had fought with at the mountain resort really was.

After hanging up, Gideon sped off toward Kane Group headquarters and went straight to Ethan's office.

As Ethan's adopted son, Gideon had rarely set foot in Kane Group over the years, maybe three times at most. Ethan had forbidden him from digging into the Kane family's affairs.

Gideon wasn't allowed to work at Kane Group or enter the pharmaceutical industry. Ethan only allowed him to invest in other industries.
