Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 294

When Giselle opened the door, she found Gideon at her doorstep, looking incredibly out of breath.

She fell silent for a moment. She wanted to shut the door immediately, but Gideon's arm was in the way.

"What are you doing here?" she asked coldly.

"I'm sorry," Gideon said as he stared at her with a guilty and anxious expression. "I came to explain everything to you."

"That won't be necessary," she replied emotionlessly.

She didn't think an explanation would change anything, but Gideon forced his way into her home.

He grabbed her hand and led her to the couch. Then, he took a seat and declared, "I have to give you a proper explanation."

With his back facing her, he stared out at the balcony and started to tell her everything that happened between him and Cecilia.

As it turned out, Cecilia York was indeed his ex-girlfriend. The pair dated for three years, and it was the longest relationship he'd ever been in.

Throughout the course of their three-year relationship, they broke up and got back together multiple times. Then, when they broke up again at the beginning of last year, he finally ended things for good.

Prior to meeting Giselle, he'd never thought that he'd fall in love. Ironically, now that he'd decided to abandon his old ways and settle down for good, he'd suddenly become a father.

Although she also felt extremely resigned, Giselle couldn't help but ask, "Have you done a paternity test? Are you sure the child belongs to you?"

"Yes," Gideon nodded bleakly. "When Cecilia approached me and told me about this, I immediately asked for a paternity test. Unfortunately, the results came back positive…"

Upon hearing this, Giselle felt her heart sink. However, a sense of relief soon washed over her.

"Well, that's not so bad." She smiled resignedly. "Having a son is a great thing. Regardless of who the mother is, the important thing is that the child is yours. I think your uncle will be pleased to hear about this as well."
