By eight that evening, Donovan showed up at her apartment as promised, ready to take her home.

"What's wrong?" he asked, noticing her mood was off.

As he spotted the puppy in the house, something clicked in his mind.

"Who came by this afternoon?" He tried to pry.

"No one." Giselle instinctively shook her head, intending to brush it off. "One of my staff picked up the puppy for me. You don't mind if I raise it at your place, do you?"

"Your place?" Donovan arched an eyebrow. "Isn't it your home too?"

"Right," she said, almost forgetting that they were married now. "It's been a long day since we registered our marriage today. I'm exhausted. How about staying here tonight instead?"

"Fine by me," he said evenly.

Then, almost as a warning, he added, "Just remember your identity now. You know perfectly well which people you should see and avoid seeing."

She drew in a quiet breath and quietly changed the subject. "How did things go with your family? Your mother was furious. You're not really going to cut ties with them, are you?"

"That's none of your concern," Donovan replied airily. "And don't bother with their opinions, too. From now on, the only thing you should care about is me—what I feel and what I want. Make me the center of your world."

Giselle couldn't help but laugh. "So if I revolve around you, does that mean you'll grant me all my wishes?"

His boundless indulgence left Giselle a little unsteady. For someone once so cold and untouchable, his sudden transformation into a man who doted on her without limits made her feel almost guilty.
