Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 386

Giselle felt unsure how to respond to Zachary's clearly emotional gesture.

"No need for formalities, Zach. Let's just use our names from now on," she said, tucking some hair behind her ear and forcing a small smile. "Let's move forward. We're family now, and I hope things go well for you."

Zachary let out a cold laugh. "Thanks. I hope we both do well."

The awkward moment was immediately interrupted by Anne, who smirked and stirred up more trouble.

She mocked Giselle in front of everyone, "That's easy for you to say. You toyed with his feelings, deceived him like he was a fool, and nearly ruined his life. Now that you've gotten what you wanted, you tell him to move on? Do you even have the right to say you're family?"

Giselle had no intention of arguing with Anne in front of the family. She had seen her shameless side too many times to bother responding.

However, Donovan couldn't stand it. He said to Adrian with a calm expression, "Today is a family gathering. Please ask anyone who isn't part of the family to leave."

Adrian hesitated but finally said, "Ms. Anne, it's getting late. Shall I arrange a ride home for you?"

Anne completely ignored Donovan's order. She even acted as if her former fiancé didn't exist.

She gave Adrian a cold smile and said, "I was invited here by Zach, and now you want to send me away? Aren't you supposed to show Mr. Zachary some respect?"

Grace didn't entirely know what Anne was up to, but since she was close to Renee, she treated Anne like family.

She said, "Enough. Since you're here, Anne, just sit down and eat. The awkwardness is on others, not you. You were the one who got hurt, so just take a seat. Even if you're not officially part of the family, you're always welcome here."
