In the following days, Giselle continued working hard at Kane Group's branch.
After the hard-handed move in the meeting last time, no one in the company dared to publicly give her trouble. The company management showed her respect and listened to her, even if it might be just for show. Every single project decision had to receive final approval from her.
One morning, Giselle was in the middle of reviewing a document in her office when someone barged into her room.
Her head snapped up. She recognized two familiar faces—Tony and Renee.
This time, she did not immediately kick Renee out, almost as though she had expected Renee's arrival. She continued reading.
Renee walked in the front and signaled to Tony with a look.
Tony walked over to Giselle's table with a fawning smile. He began with some pleasantries, "Giselle, I heard you started working at Kane Group. Is everything going well so far?"
"Spit it out. I don't have time for nonsense." Giselle didn't even look up.
"Okay."
Tony did not carelessly yell at her like he did in the past, possibly because he was mindful of her new status after she married Donovan.
"I'm pretty busy too. Let's keep it short." Tony stopped beating around the bush. "I'm here this time to talk to you about the purchase price for Renee's company. I heard Donovan put you on that task. Is that right?"
