Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 405

Giselle knew that Donovan wouldn't agree to her request so easily. After all, she wasn't just asking him for a house or a car. This was a complicated matter. On top of that, Dorothea and Ethan wouldn't allow it to happen either.

Donovan proposed a six-month observation period instead of immediately turning her down. This was the best outcome she could've asked for. She shouldn't push her luck.

Donovan was a changed man. He used to be cold and indifferent. But now, he treated her like a queen and was willing to give her everything she wanted. Whenever she thought about what happened back then, she couldn't help but feel guilty about it.

Feeling indebted to him, she said out of the blue, "I actually lied to you about some things back then."

"What is it?"

He didn't really care about the past anymore.

She took a deep breath and replied, "I've never betrayed you. Gideon and I never slept together. After I was trafficked to a foreign country, I also came up with ways to protect myself from other men.

"None of them did anything to me. As for how that happened… I don't really want to talk about it. I don't think you'll believe me if I did."

Upon hearing this, Donovan froze for a couple of moments.

"If that's the case, then you don't have to bring this up anymore."

He clearly didn't care about how many men she'd been with. He didn't care about all of that at all.

In his opinion, even if she did have a "dirty past", he would choose to look past it. He wouldn't judge her or think any less of her because of it.

With that logic, he wouldn't feel happy or fortunate if she was a conservative woman who'd never engaged in any sexual relationship either.

After being at the very top of the social hierarchy for so long, Donovan had seen enough of the world to cast aside traditional beliefs. All he valued was who Giselle was as a person as well as the joy she brought to his life.
