Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 411

In the car, Cecilia was still on the phone with her secretary when she learned the devastating news. A drunk driver had struck the housekeeper who was carrying Harry across a crosswalk.

Due to the high speed of the vehicle, the housekeeper was struck down instantly. On the other hand, one-year-old Harry was thrown several meters through the air.

Both had lost consciousness at the scene and were rushed to the ICU for emergency treatment.

After hearing such a horrifying account, Cecilia could do nothing but sob uncontrollably.

Despite being a bystander, Giselle was deeply unsettled. But all she could do was slam her foot harder on the accelerator.

Though merely a fellow passenger, Ethan was just as anxious as she was, so much so that he couldn't sit still.

It made no sense. As an overwhelmingly busy chairman, he had no reason to be so concerned with a bastard grandson who was neither his kin by law nor by blood.

Yet, he valued Gideon far too much. Even if Harry was Gideon's illegitimate child, Ethan cared greatly and was terrified of the slightest mishap.

Ethan stayed on edge. He had even gone so far as to make a personal call to a trusted surgeon to ensure immediate assistance was available.

Twenty minutes later, the three arrived at Tranquil General Hospital. It was the closest to the scene of the accident, so the injured housekeeper and Harry had been rushed there.

Upon arriving at the emergency room doors, the emergency treatment was still ongoing inside. But no updates were available yet.

Cecilia repeatedly dialed Gideon's number, but each call went unanswered. Consumed with fear for Harry's safety, she crumpled to the floor and began sobbing helplessly.
