Giselle walked over to Lauren, crouched down, and tore the tape from her mouth.

"Help! Somebody help me!" Lauren screamed as she struggled violently.

Giselle let her thrash and scream for a while, then flatly said, "Shout all you like. Out here, only the insects will hear you."

"You…" Lauren's terrified eyes locked onto Giselle.

Her voice trembled with both anger and panic as she shouted, "You had me kidnapped? Do you even realize this is a crime? Let me go!"

Although Lauren had been under police protection as a victim in the case, she was still free to come and go. Tonight, she walked right into their trap after Gideon had her boyfriend seized and forced him to call her, luring her to this place.

As soon as she showed up, Gideon's men subdued her with ease and held her there until Giselle came.

Giselle crossed her arms, looking down at her. "Let you go? Fine. Confess how you set Donovan up. Once he's released, you'll walk free."

"Set him up? Are you insane?" Lauren cried, her voice trembling with rage. "The police already investigated. He forced himself on me and destroyed my life. There's no way I'm dropping the charges!"

Giselle let out a cold laugh. "Well, look at that. You do love pretending to be the noble victim, don't you?"

Giselle leaned in, fixing her with a merciless look. "Still trying to act tough? Ms. Evans, have you ever looked in a mirror? What makes you think my husband would ever want you? Do you even know who he is? Women willing to have him could circle the globe. Who do you think you are?"

"You!" Lauren's eyes widened in humiliation and fury. She wanted to curse, but the words caught in her throat. She tried to struggle, but Giselle's grip on her hair only made her scalp burn with pain. Tears welled in her eyes as she screamed, "Let me go!"

Tightening her grip, Giselle gave her a cold, merciless smile. "Of all the people you could have provoked, you chose my man? Tonight, I'll make sure you learn that you picked the wrong one."

At that, Giselle seemed possessed by a demon. She seized Lauren by the hair, yanked her off the couch, and dragged her mercilessly toward the small room next door.
