Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 491

Crouching next to Giselle, Gideon offered some reassuring and gentle words, "I just wanted you to know that I've got your back no matter what challenges you face. As long as you're willing, I'll be there for you…"

She met his eyes that burned with passion. Something stirred within her.

Gideon was a handsome, esteemed man who would give her the moon and listen to her. Yet, she realized that he was not her salvation.

She still felt alone and cold, as though she was stuck in a dead-end.

"Thanks. Please go about your day. Leave me alone," she whispered.

"Okay." Gideon had just received a call from the company's senior management. He had to leave for a meeting at the office for now.

Before leaving, he called up his housekeeper and requested a maid to drop by Giselle's place.

In the next few days, his maid, Janelle Pullman, stayed over at Giselle's. Janelle cooked meals and walked the dog for Giselle, helping to keep Giselle's life on track.

Still, Giselle did not get better, even as time passed. She spent every day in a stupor. She lost her appetite and had no energy to work at her pet store.

Even her vendetta with Renee was not enough to motivate her.

Yeah, he had a new lover. Her heart pained at the thought, but acceptance soon followed.

One morning, Gideon visited Giselle at her home. Noticing her improvement, he tentatively suggested, "You can't be staying at home and ruminating all the time. How about this? I'll bring you somewhere and have some fun."

After a few days of bedrotting, Giselle was keen to go back into the world. Staying home and wallowing in self-pity would not get her out of this hole. She decided to go out and have fun.

Her face lit up with excitement. "Sure. Where to?"
