Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 511

Compared to Donovan's violent breakdown earlier, Tony's emotions seemed painfully restrained. His gaunt face remained expressionless, as if life itself had been drained out of him.

In the end, he quietly walked out of Kane Manor, leaving the suffocating grief behind as he got into his car and drove away.

"Mrs. Kane," Renee said softly, stepping forward. Her tone carried just the right amount of sorrow as she addressed Dorothea. "I'll be leaving too. You'll have to handle Giselle's arrangements from here.

"Tony only just lost Sebastian not long ago, and he still hasn't recovered. He doesn't have the strength to face losing his daughter as well. Since Giselle was married into the Kane family, her funeral and burial should be decided by all of you. Tony and I won't interfere.

"Thank you for everything you've done. Please, remind Don to take care of himself and try to move on."

With that, Renee turned away with a solemn expression and slowly walked out of the living room. As she reached her car, Renee glanced around to make sure no one was watching. Then, with a look of disgust, she ripped the white mourning flower from her chest and tossed it into the trash.

When the house finally grew quiet again, Ethan walked over and sat beside Donovan.

"Don, if you need to cry, then cry," Ethan said softly. "Life isn't always kind. There's joy and there's loss, and no one can escape it. You and Giselle had your time together, but it's over now. It hurts, I know, but you have to accept it. What you shared was real, and that's enough. Some things are simply fate. No one can fight it. Let her rest now, and find a way to move forward."

Whenever he heard the faintest sound by the bedroom door, he almost believed she was about to walk in, laughing as she tackled him onto the bed, teasing him the way she used to.

Sometimes, he thought he could hear her voice echoing faintly in his ears. At night, he imagined her lying beside him, just like she used to.

Under the torment of these hallucinations, Donovan finally broke. That night, his body gave out, and he burned with a fever that wouldn't fade.
