Donovan didn't really care about the damage Anne had done to his reputation or his physical well-being. He tolerated her behavior as a way to atone for calling off the engagement. On top of that, he also didn't want to waste his time and energy on her.

However, he'd just lost the woman he loved, and Anne was provoking him when he was at his lowest point. Hence, he finally felt like she'd taken things too far.

He couldn't stop thinking about how Anne had offended him in the past.

She lied about her pregnancy and physically assaulted him in a crazy manner at the hospital. She also berated him and mocked him on multiple occasions. Afterward, she even framed him for rape and subjected him to public scrutiny before leaving his reputation in shambles.

Additionally, Anne also repeatedly put Giselle's life in danger. Once, she locked her in a cold storage room on purpose, and on another occasion, she tipped off the police to get Giselle killed by her kidnappers. She'd likely committed other malicious acts that he wasn't even aware of as well.

That deranged woman was now involved with Zachary and pregnant with his illegitimate child. Her actions threw the entire Kane family into chaos. She'd stirred up a huge amount of trouble. Yet, she still assumed she'd be able to get away with everything scot-free.

Donovan shut his eyes and took a deep breath. He was currently coming up with a secret plan.

After leaving the cemetery, he returned to his office and called Zachary. Half an hour later, the latter arrived at his office.

Zachary pushed the door open and entered the room.

With a hand in his pocket, he asked as he walked toward Donovan, "What's going on, Uncle Don? You're acting all mysterious. You asked to speak with me in person?

Donovan, who was smoking a cigarette by the floor-to-ceiling window, looked like he was deep in thought. Instead of answering Zachary immediately, he blew out a puff of smoke into the air. His face was shrouded in smoke, and his expression looked extremely solemn.

"Uncle Don?" Zachary called out as he walked up to him from behind.

Donovan finally turned around. After putting out his cigarette, he said, "I wanted to talk to you about Anne Holt."

"Tell me the truth," Donovan said as he stared at Zachary coldly. "What are you planning to do with the baby she's carrying?"

"What else do you think I'm planning on doing? Of course I'd want her to get an abortion as soon as possible!

"I'm not ready to settle down yet. The thought of suddenly becoming a dad is driving me crazy. Besides, there's a chance that the baby's not even mine!"

Feeling irritated and disgusted, Zachary continued, "Since you've already brought it up, please help me out! Help me come up with a solution, Uncle Don.

"I refuse to marry her no matter what! Plus, it'll be incredibly insulting to you if I actually did…"

After a brief pause, Donovan asked, "So, you're sure that you don't want to keep the baby?"
