After running out of the restaurant and getting back into the car, Giselle's heart pounded wildly for several minutes before it finally calmed down. She thought she would have an episode, but to her surprise, her mind remained clear, and nothing happened.
Not long after, Donovan reached the car and pulled open the back door, asking anxiously, "Are you okay? Does it hurt anywhere?"
"No, I'm okay." Giselle tried to compose herself. "What are you doing here? Isn't tonight's dinner important? Don't worry about me. Hurry back in. I'll have the driver take me home later."
"I'm not in the mood anymore," he irritably said. "It's my fault. I should've checked who was attending. If I'd known Marselle would be there, I would've canceled that pointless dinner."
Giselle sneered. "Why should you cancel dinner just because she showed up? She's nothing but a clown. Don't bother with her.
"I didn't run out because I'm scared of her. It all just happened so suddenly, and I was afraid I'd have an episode and embarrass you in public…"
"I know." Noticing the color return to her face, Donovan drew her into his arms. "Let's not talk about someone that insignificant. I've already canceled all cooperation with Sterling Group. I won't give her another chance to stir up trouble again."
"You canceled all cooperation with her family? Isn't that a little too much? That's a huge loss for Kane Group. There's no need to go that far over something so small."
"Don't worry your pretty little head over it. All you need to know is that I'll get rid of anything or anyone that might hurt you the moment it appears, and the only thing you need to do is stay in a good mood for me."
