Ethan was visibly shaken. He turned to Donovan, unable to hold back his frustration.
"Don, tell me the truth. Has Benjamin been acting strange lately? Did you scold him these past two days and push him into doing something this foolish?"
But Donovan was still trapped in the memory of the violent scene he had just witnessed. His mind hadn't yet surfaced from the shock, and he had no intention of answering Ethan's accusations.
Giselle stepped in. "No. Benjamin was completely normal. Throughout the wedding preparations, he helped us coordinate everything. He was enthusiastic and even joked around with us sometimes. We treated him like part of the family. We never said a harsh word to him. When he left the house today, he was smiling."
"Maybe he had depression," Grace said, eyes wide. "Some people hide it well. Maybe you upset him over something small, and he chose your wedding on purpose to get revenge."
"Stop talking nonsense," Ethan snapped, clearly on edge. "Whatever the case, let the police investigate first. This isn't as simple as it looks. I'm not convinced he jumped on his own."
After speaking, Ethan seemed to realize the potential fallout. He immediately called the PR department and ordered them to prepare a full crisis response strategy, preventing the incident from spreading beyond the venue.
The wedding they had spent a month planning had been shattered in an instant.
Everything grand and beautiful had been wiped out.
What was supposed to be the most important, unforgettable day of their lives had become entangled with death.
One glance at the pool of blood still staining the floor, then another at the romantic decorations surrounding, and Giselle felt her chest tighten until she could hardly breathe. Dread rose inside her like a tide.
Later, they went backstage to change out of their wedding attire and into ordinary clothes. They climbed into the car, intending to head home.
