Guided by Brenda Nguyen, Lisa Davis left the mountains. The moment she returned to the city, she contacted local authorities. 

She planned to build a road to the village, set up internet there, so the elderly and children could access information beyond the mountains. 

She also aimed to construct schools and hospitals to improve their lives. 

Lisa’s ultimate goal was transforming the village into a tourist destination, creating jobs to lure migrant workers back to accompany elders and children. 

It was a massive project. Lisa invested hundreds of millions, personally leading construction crews back to the village. 

“Child, why’d you return?” Brenda Nguyen’s eyes reddened seeing her. “Conditions here are harsh. You’re not used to this. 

“Things will improve. Life will get better.” Lisa hugged Brenda tightly. 

Village elders and children didn’t grasp “development,” but trusted Lisa meant no harm. 

Everyone who could help showed up. 

No matter how Lisa persuaded them, they insisted on contributing. 

Lisa arranged medical teams for village checkups, personally teaching children to read. 

For the first time, she felt life’s purpose. 

A world without David Green could still be vibrant. 

That day, while Lisa taught math problems, Brenda brought someone in. 

“Child, someone’s here for you.” Brenda’s eyes sparkled. 

Lisa stood up, startled. “Jacob, why are you here?”
