Inside the living room.
"Why don't we just send him to prison? What if he changes his mind and betrays us again? We went through all that trouble to get him out, and he still tried to run."
Hayley pouted, clearly displeased.
"Violet hasn't shown up, so we can't get a physical sample from her. Even if her face hasn't changed over the years, it could be dismissed as plastic surgery. And right now, everyone believes she died over twenty years ago," Ruby explained.
Fanny nodded in understanding. "We will definitely hold Domingo accountable for his actions. But with no progress on Violet's end, he's a walking piece of evidence."
Victor agreed, and Hayley sighed, leaning back against the sofa.
"Didn't you say Violet was pregnant? Has she been to a hospital for a check-up?"
She suddenly sat up, her eyes shining.
Ruby stroked her chin thoughtfully. "Bennett provided us with the hospital surveillance footage from that day, and he checked the records. The person who went for the check-up wasn't Violet. Hanley must have given her a fake identity. Bennett immediately instructed the hospital to contact him if anyone resembling Violet appeared. But it's been a while, and it seems Violet hasn't shown up at any OB/GYN clinic in Quinborough since."
"Does it have to be an OB/GYN?"
Victor, who had been silent for a while, suddenly spoke up.
"We should ask around, or maybe contact the housekeeper at Violet's apartment," Victor said, narrowing his eyes. "She's always there. It shouldn't be too hard for her to get a strand of Violet's hair."
A brief silence filled the air.
"Yeah, Ruby! Why didn't we just ask the housekeeper?"
Hayley's mouth twitched.
"Right—I'll call Bennett right now."
Looking as if a light bulb had just gone on, Ruby stood up to call Bennett.
Her steps were hurried, filled with an eagerness she herself didn't realize.
The DNA report had already confirmed the blood relationship between Hanley and Gennifer Grayson. Now, if they could prove that Violet and Gennifer were also related by blood, Hanley's long-buried scheme would finally be exposed.
