Su Qinglan sat down on the flat stone and called the first female forward. The female looked nervous, her hands twisting in front of her body. Su Qinglan’s gaze softened as she placed her hand on her wrist and quietly used her ability to check.
The moment her power entered the female’s body, Su Qinglan frowned.
Her pulse was weak, her body was cold, and her energy flow was very slow. There were even traces of old injuries around her lower belly... scars left from childbirth that never healed properly.
She sighed softly. "You’re too weak," she said gently. "Your body has not recovered from the first birth, and you’ve lost too much strength. You need proper food and rest before you can think about having cubs again."
The female’s eyes turned red, and she bit her lip. "So... I can’t have cubs anymore?"
Su Qinglan shook her head. "Not now. But if you follow what I say and take care of yourself, you still have a chance later."
The female nodded quickly, her eyes shining with hope again.
Su Qinglan called the next one. One by one, she checked them...five females in total.
Almost all of them had the same problem. Their bodies were cold, thin, and malnourished. They had old wounds that had never been properly treated. One even had an infection from her first birth that still lingered.
It was heartbreaking.
In this beast world, there was no real healing, no medicine, and no proper rest after birth. Females had to do everything themselves, and once they became weak, no one really knew how to help them recover.
Su Qinglan’s hands trembled slightly as she pulled back from the fifth female. She felt angry and helpless at the same time. "This world really doesn’t care about females’ bodies," she thought bitterly.
She looked at all of them sitting in front of her. Their faces were full of hope and nervousness, waiting for her to speak.
"You all have different problems," she said finally. "Some are just weak. Some have cold energy. Some still carry old injuries. If I treat everyone at once, it will be too much for me. So for today, I will stop here. The rest of you can come tomorrow."
The moment she said that, some of the females exchanged looks. A few even showed reluctant expressions, clearly unhappy about waiting another day.
Su Qinglan noticed it immediately. Her eyes narrowed slightly. She knew that look. The look of people who were starting to expect too much.
Before she could say anything, Hu Yan, who had been silently standing nearby, took one step forward. His tall shadow fell over them, and his cold golden eyes swept through the crowd.
The females froze. None of them dared to meet his gaze.
Just one glance from Hu Yan was enough to silence the whole group. Even the ones who looked dissatisfied quickly bowed their heads, pretending to adjust their baskets.
Su Qinglan’s lips twitched slightly. "As expected," she thought. "Hu Yan doesn’t even need to say a word to scare them."
But she wasn’t upset about it. In fact, she was glad.
Because she didn’t plan to exhaust herself treating everyone in one day. Healing them took both energy and time, and her healing ability hadn’t improved much even after constant use. She was still stuck at the same level... the lowest level of her plant-type ability.
It made her frustrated.
Her power could heal, yes, but it barely grew stronger. Without crystal cores or any energy source like in cultivation novels, she had no idea how to upgrade it.
"If it continues like this, even if I heal a hundred people, my level won’t increase much," she thought angrily. "By the time I’m old, I might not even reach level three."
She bit her lip. "I need to find another way... something that can help me grow faster."
But for now, she pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the females in front of her again.
