Chapter 51
Rania’s heart jumped to her throat when she heard someone knocked on the door, she was on the verge of screaming, but she held herself back, and swallowed it down.
“Y–Yes?” Her voice was a little bit trembling, she was grateful that she locked the door, so whoever it was, they wouldn’t be able to enter freely, and caught her with the poison.
“Why are you locking the door?” Maximus’s deep voice travelled inside the bathroom, he tried to jiggle the doorknob. “What are you doing inside?”
He didn’t mean to disturb her time in the bathroom, but he didn’t hear any sound from inside. Rania had punched the glass, and asked to be killed when he initiated sex before, based on that, Maximus felt suspicious, especially when she locked the door.
If she didn’t answer him, he would have torn down the door instead.
“For a while.” Rania hid the bottle of poison in the deep spot of the bottom drawer, before she hastily opened the door, and found Maximus’s serious expression.
“What are you doing inside?” Maximus looked around the bathroom, trying to spot something amiss, such as; a drop of blood, or anything harmful that Rania could use to hurt herself.
He might sound overbearing, as he came as if he wanted to control every aspect of her, but this woman was suicidal. He wouldn’t put it pass her to try something outrageous.
“No, nothing…” Rania said, she looked at the king, and held her breathe when his intense gaze landed on her naked body. He saw a few red marks on her skin.
Maximus was fascinated, and subconsciously, he stretched out his hand. He touched one red mark on her collarbone, and brushed it gently with his thumb. “Does it hurt?”
Rania shivered against his touch, but she shook her head.
“Hm. Come to bed. I want to sleep.” Maximus took her hand, and laid her down on the bed, before he hugged her from behind.
He buried his face against her crook of her neck, and slept that way. This position was very uncomfortable for Rania, because he was too close with her. She was trying to wriggle her body away.
“Don’t move, you will make me excited again,” Maximus said, and Rania could feel his hardness against her back, which made her very still.
And thankfully, because she was also exhausted, she ended up sleeping in his arms.
However, when Rania woke up, Maximus had long gone, the spot beside her was empty and cold, and there was a tray of food on the table, which meant Kean had been here.
All of sudden, Rania felt self conscious, because she was naked. She wondered if Kean went to her bedroom, and saw her nakedness.

Yet, she didn’t think much of it, and immediately cleaned herself up. She picked up her clothes from the backpack inside the walk in closet.
This place alone could be a small bedroom. This walk in closet was even bigger than her bedroom in the Black Stone pack.
Rania ate her food, and spent the rest of the day watching television. She had nothing to do. Maximus wouldn’t allow her to work, since he was his mate, therefore, she could only be inside this bedroom, doing her thing.
However, she wouldn’t complain, this was the freedom that she wanted. She would prefer this all the time, instead of the life in the Black Stone pack.
Yet, here she was; stuck in another options.
Eiten than gave up, he sighed. “I came here because I don’t have anything to do, so I thought why I don’t visit you?”

However, she wouldn’t talk about this with the royal gamma, of course, neither she would admit it openly.
Rania didn’t say anything, she lifted her legs, and stared at the television, ignoring Eiten. Yet, the royal gamma was not someone, who would be easy to back down, he tried to make another attempt for small talk.
And Rania’s answer would be very polite and curt, until Eiten stopped beating around the bush, and asked her a question that caught her attention.
“Do you know why your stepbrother is here?” Eiten asked, his voice dropped, and his goofiness disappeared, which meant he mean business now, and he demanded Rania’s undivided attention.
“I don’t know,” Rania replied, she turned her body, and faced him. It was uncomfortable, and she wanted him to leave her alone.
“You don’t know?” Eiten raised his brows, as if he didn’t believe her, and to be honest, Rania couldn’t care less, whether he believed her or not.
“I don’t know,” Rania repeated the same answer. “If you are very curious, why don’t you ask him yourself?” She became a little bit defensive. “I am not close with him.”
“Yeah, that’s what I heard to,” Eiten replied, but this time, his scary expression disappeared. It was so fast, as he returned to his easy going self again, it almost felt like she was facing different person entirely. “What happened with you in the Black Stone pack? I heard rumor, but I heard nothing from truth?”
Rania hugged her legs a little bit tighter.
