Another pause.
“What happened? I need to know everything if I’m going to help you.” His tone had become solemn.
So Gabrielle told him everything about Cecilia, Timothy’s betrayal, her father’s pressure, and the arranged marriage between their families.
When she finished, Zachary asked seriously, “I can help you fake your death. But once it’s done, where will you go?”
Gabrielle was stunned. She hadn’t considered that. And she didn’t have the money either.
“Calm down, Miss Cobbett,” his voice softened. “Why don’t you go to Craighaven? I’ve got some businesses there.”
“Craighaven?” Gabrielle gave it serious thought.
“But this isn’t a game,” Zachary warned. “Faking your death means saying goodbye to everything including your identity and your wealth, literally your entire life. You’ll become a completely ordinary person.”
He paused. “And your parents… will be in pain forever.”
Gabrielle hesitated and then nodded firmly. “I have no other choice.”
She heard him sigh on the other end. “35 thousand and I’ll get it arranged in a week.”
“I don’t have that much money right now. Can I get a little time?”
“For an old friend? Fine. Just transfer it within three days.” He sighed.

When she hung up. Gabrielle trembled uncontrollably She was really about to leave everything behind
Early the next morning. Gabrielle brought all her futury items to a second–hand boutique
She also sold some diamonds, scraping together a total of 50 thousand
As she lamented how much luxury goods and diamonds depreciated in value, her phone buzzed. Timothy’s name flashed on the screen
A wave of nausea rose in her throat. Gabrielle tossed the phone aside.
When it rang again, it was her father.
Gabrielle picked it up. Her father’s voice was as cold as steel. “Go to the Goldstein family tomorrow and apologize. The wedding has been moved up.”
Gabrielle closed her eyes, her tone calm. “Dad, if I told you that I’d rather die than marry him, would you still force me?”
His tone softened.
“Gabrielle, don’t be so stubborn. We all know you like Timothy He just made a mistake, one all men make. Can’t you forgive him?”
Gabrielle stayed silent. In her past life, Timothy had an affair with Cecilia for ten years. That alone proved she was his true love
“He just called me. His attitude was good. He promised to cut ties v that woman completely. Give him another chance”
She said nothing. She already knew how this would end.

“Fine. I’ll go to the Goldsteins tomorrow.”
After hanging up, Gabrielle transferred all the money she had to Zachary and left him a message. “Please proceed with it as soon as possible.”
There was no reply. But strangely, she felt at peace.
Back home, Gabrielle went to bed early. It was the best sleep she’d had since being reborn.
The next morning, a black Rolls–Royce Cullinan silently pulled up front of her house.
The window rolled down slowly. Zachary’s face appeared.
