Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 168

His eyes dropped, landing on her face. She looked tense, almost caught off guard.

It wasn’t until the person had completely disappeared from view that Wiona realized what she’d just done. She quickly let go, her hand snapping back as if she’d touched something hot.

“Sorry, Mr. Sullivan. I didn’t mean to cross a line. I just saw Jace and panicked… I used you to hide behind.”

Conrad didn’t say much, just gave a quiet “Mm.”

Then his phone started ringing. He stepped aside to answer, leaving Wiona staring at the hospital entrance. If Jace was here, it could only mean one thing. Grandma Grace’s condition must have gotten worse again. He was the only family member left that anyone could call. Thankfully, Conrad had handled things at the hospital so well that even if Jace tried to dig into why Grandma Grace suddenly took a turn for the worse, he wouldn’t find a single clue.

After his call, Conrad got ready to leave. Clearly, something urgent had come up at Sullivan Group. Before heading out, he left two bodyguards with Wiona.

Jim and Tim. Real brothers, and honestly, their faces were almost comically square.

Conrad told them to do everything Wiona asked and to keep her completely safe. Then he left in a hurry.

Now that she had protection, Wiona decided to go back into the hospital. She’d already made up her mind to get a divorce, but she didn’t have enough leverage yet. She needed to figure out what really happened at the Salisbury estate.

Why did Daniel stab Alona? They’d been married for over twenty years. One knife, and the whole Salisbury family was nearly ruined. The outside world didn’t have a clue. Jace must have worked overtime and spent a fortune to keep things so quiet. Not a single rumor had escaped.

Wiona wasn’t planning to blow things up just yet. She needed proof, something she could use against Jace. Only then would she have a real shot.

And there was another question. Where was Bianca? After everything went down, it was like she’d vanished off the face of the earth.

Inside the hospital, Jace looked exhausted as he stood outside the ICU. After a short wait, he was allowed inside in full protective gear. Seeing Alona finally awake, he let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding.
