Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 392

"Wiona, I really do want what's best for you."

Wiona knew Tina meant it. Tina would only say something like this to someone she truly cared about, and Wiona appreciated that. She didn't feel offended at all. In fact, she nodded, a little sheepish but sincere. "Okay. I get it, Tina. I promise I'll finish my work after the holidays."

These last few months had been a whirlwind. She'd gone from finalizing her divorce to navigating awkward run-ins with Conrad, discovering secrets about her own family, dealing with her mentor, and moving from the Salisbury family to the Sullivan family. She barely had a minute to herself.

Still, Tina was right. No matter what, she couldn't lose sight of her own worth. She didn't want to become just another accessory to a family or a man.

As they chatted, Madison finally arrived, a little out of breath. "Hey, am I late?"

Wiona quickly introduced Madison and Tina, then the three of them followed Owen upstairs.

The Cruz family home was quiet, almost stifling, with only an elderly couple left living there. The whole place felt heavy and dated, full of memories and silence. In the living room, a single photo stood out. It was a portrait of Jewel in her youth, bright and confident. Looking at it, Wiona could see the resemblance. It’s the same face as the girl in the pink beret from the orphanage photo.

The old couple hurried over as soon as they saw the police at the door. "Officer, do you have news about our daughter?" Natasha glanced at the others, uncertain. "And who are these people?"

Owen answered simply, "These two ladies are the babies whose identities Jewel switched all those years ago."

The couple's faces fell, guilt flickering across their expressions. "We... we honestly didn't know Jewel had done something like that," Eddie stammered.

"We’re so sorry," Natasha added, voice trembling. "We haven’t heard a word from Jewel in years. We don’t even know if she’s alive or gone. Maybe it's karma, or maybe she disappeared because she felt guilty."

"Jewel was always such a kind girl. We still can't figure out how she could have done something like this." Eddie shook his head. "It must have been that no-good boyfriend. That liar ruined our daughter."

Owen’s eyes narrowed. "Boyfriend? You never mentioned your daughter had a boyfriend when I was here before."
