Some people are just born geniuses. No matter how hard ordinary people try, they’ll never reach those heights. They’re like gods you can only look up to.
Right now, the director was stuck on one question. Was Mr. Sullivan really planning to jump in and help Mrs. Salisbury himself? He was a brain surgeon, not an obstetrician. What was he even doing here? Ever since his own close call two years ago, Mr. Sullivan had barely set foot in an operating room. Yet today, he showed up without warning.
The director was now convinced that this wealthy young lady was anything but ordinary.
In Wiona’s hospital room, there were monitors and machines everywhere. But none of them were hooked up to her. She didn’t even have an IV drip. That said it all. Conrad immediately understood what was going on.
Wiona had only taken a pregnancy-safe sedative, so now she was sound asleep, breathing peacefully. Listening to her gentle snores, Conrad turned to the director.
“So? Want to explain this?”
The director looked miserable, practically begging. “Mr. Sullivan, please, you have to listen to me.”

The next morning, Wiona woke up and grabbed her phone. There were countless missed calls and unread messages. Molly had called over a dozen times, Mason a few, and, surprisingly, even her mother had called twice.
She called Molly back first. “Hey, Molly.”
Molly had been up all night worrying. The second she heard Wiona’s voice, she nearly burst into tears.
“Ma’am, you finally answered. Are you alright?”
“I’m fine. Nothing unexpected happened, and I actually slept pretty well,” Wiona said, trying to reassure her.
Molly’s relief was obvious. “That’s a huge relief. Seriously, you have no idea how crazy it’s been at home. Do you want the details? It’s honestly a whole soap opera.”
Wiona had been waiting for news. She was more than ready to hear it all.
Molly launched right in. “Yesterday, when word got back to the main house that Kellen had attacked you at her birthday party and you almost lost the babies, Grandma nearly fainted from shock. She was furious and made Jace kneel in the courtyard for half the night. Alona was beside herself, pacing nonstop, then she stormed over to Grandma’s villa and caused a huge scene.”
“In the end, Daniel had to drag her away. He said Jace deserved it and needed to think about what he’d done. Then Alona lost it, threatened to kick Kellen out of the house.”
“And guess what? When they threw Kellen’s luggage out, she ended up falling and scraping her knee and hand. Jace couldn’t stand it anymore. He jumped up, ran straight to her, and carried her to the car. The two of them just left. They still haven’t come back.”
