The moment she finished talking, her slender fingers danced across the keyboard, moving so fast they were just a blur.
The giant screen split into two halves.
On the left, there was a shrunken blueprint of the Dome’s inner workings. On the right, another diagram appeared—almost a mirror image.
Every programmer in the room sucked in a breath.
The code on both sides wasn’t just similar—it was exactly the same.
But the timestamps told a different story. On the left, the Dome’s code had dates stretching back three years, scattered with updates and tweaks, showing a real history of development. On the right, every line of code was stamped within a single short time frame—a month from a year ago.
Those neat, identical dates screamed the truth: this was a one-time, copy-paste job.
Meanwhile, in a hospital room, Evelina sat back with a smug smile, watching the livestream and waiting for Emmy to be completely humiliated.
But the moment she saw those two blueprints side by side, all the color drained from her face.
She grabbed her phone in a panic and called Juan.
“Juan! Hurry! Turn off the livestream!”
Juan sounded lost. “What’s wrong, Eve?”
Evelina’s voice trembled. She couldn’t admit the truth. “Emmy’s lost it! She just leaked our core system online! This could be a disaster for Starlight Corporation!”
But Juan stayed calm. “Don’t worry. I checked with the tech team. She’s only shown part of the system, nothing critical. It won’t do much harm.”
“I said turn it off!” Evelina was almost screaming.
“Juan, don’t you love me? If you do, shut down the livestream right now!”
The line went silent.
Juan frowned, feeling the panic in Evelina’s voice.
He let out a long sigh, then finally picked up the internal phone and gave the order to PR.
“End the livestream.”
On screen, Emmy’s cool, clear voice cut straight through, hitting Evelina right in the chest.
“The diagram on the right is the internal structure of the Skyline System—founded by Starlight Corporation’s own Deputy Director of Technology, Evelina White.”
The camera zoomed in on Emmy’s eyes—sharp and steady, looking like she could see right through the screen and pin Evelina to the spot.
“So, Ms. White, I just have one question.”
“How is it that the Skyline System’s original code is identical to my Dome project?”
With a dull thud, Evelina’s phone slipped from her hand and hit the floor.
She felt all the blood drain from her body, sinking into her chair, her face pale as paper.
It was over.
Everything was over.
