Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 234

The Starlight Corporation’s conference room exploded into chaos.

“Holy crap! It’s exactly the same! This is straight-up theft!”

“They don’t even care anymore! This is blatant corporate stealing!”

Any programmer worth their salt could see it—this was undeniable proof. There was no way to explain it away.

Cooper’s voice thundered over the noise. “Security! Where’s security? Get everyone who doesn’t belong out of here! Now! Turn off that screen!”

A group of security guards rushed for the control panel.

But before they could get close, Will stepped right in front of Emmy. With a few quick, brutal moves, he sent the guards flying.

His expression was cold, his movements fierce. No one dared get anywhere near Emmy.

Dean just stood there, frozen, staring at the two different systems up on the giant screen.

All around him, the room was pure chaos—shouting, cursing, chairs and tables crashing. The noise was deafening.

But Dean didn’t hear any of it.

He just frowned, one thought tumbling over and over in his mind.

How could they be exactly the same?

How was that even possible?

Evelina had told him, again and again, that she’d poured three years of her life into the Skyline System. She’d said there were some technical issues she just couldn’t crack.

He remembered pulling every string he could, even taking her to meet Dominic’s top student, hoping to help her break through those “bottlenecks.”

He suddenly remembered a tiny detail, something he’d brushed aside at the time. Back then, that programmer had looked at the code and asked, “Are you sure your girlfriend built this system herself?”

Dean hadn’t even hesitated. “Yes,” he’d said.

The guy hadn’t said anything more, just mumbled, “That’s really strange,” and left it at that.

Now it all made sense.

So that’s what he meant.

So Evelina had even stolen Skyline System from Emmy?

Dean’s eyes snapped up, cutting through the chaos and locking right onto Emmy.

She was standing tall, like a queen who’d just won her crown, raising an eyebrow at him from across the room, a sea of people between them.

Emmy couldn’t speak. The pain was too much. Her face was white as a sheet, sweat soaking her brow.

Abriella’s heart broke for her. She held her tight. “Emmy, let’s get out of here.”

Gritting her teeth, Emmy straightened up with Abriella’s help.

She shot her father a look of pure hatred.

Then she turned and saw Dean running toward her.

She frowned. “Abriella, grab my suitcase. We’re leaving.”

Abriella wrapped an arm around her and grabbed the suitcase.

“Emmy!” Will caught up to them.

He’d wanted to ask her to stay—their engineers would be here any minute to talk about working together.

But when he saw how pale she was, saw the sweat on her face, he swallowed his words.

“Let’s get you to the hospital first,” he said, his voice heavy with regret.

Emmy didn’t say a word. Leaning on Abriella, she left the mess behind, walking out of the chaos without looking back.
