Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 706

Andrew’s gentle eyes lingered on Teresa, his voice soft and easy.

“I stopped by Moonlight Bay looking for you this morning. Your aunt said you weren’t home.”

“Ollie was the one who told me you’d come to the hospital.”

Teresa asked without thinking, “Why didn’t you bring Ollie along?”

Ollie had been staying at Moonlight Bay since New Year’s Day. His mom, Krystina, was a total workaholic. Whenever she got caught up in a project, she basically moved into her office and would disappear for days. Whenever that happened, she’d just leave Ollie with Teresa.

Luckily, Ollie was the sweetest kid she’d ever met. He was so thoughtful for someone so young, it almost made your heart ache. He never acted up or made trouble, and Teresa never had to worry about him.

Andrew’s smile turned even softer.

“He said if he was going to visit Emmy in the hospital, he needed to bring the prettiest bouquet of flowers.”

“He told me he didn’t have any money right now, so he wants to wait until his mom comes back, get his allowance, and then buy the flowers so he and his mom can visit Emmy together.”

Teresa’s heart melted, a mix of tenderness and bittersweetness filling her chest.

“Oh, what a good boy. He’s just too considerate.”

She started unpacking the breakfast as she spoke.

When Andrew saw Emmy about to climb out of bed, he took the breakfast from Teresa’s hands.

“I’ll handle this. Go help Emmy.”

Teresa turned around and hurried to help her daughter.

Emmy waved her off. “Mom, I’m really fine. I just need to use the bathroom. You don’t have to help me.”

Seeing she was serious, Teresa didn’t insist and went back to the table.

Andrew was already laying out the breakfast one dish at a time. She had no idea where he’d found such carefully prepared food—delicate shrimp dumplings, sticky rice shumai, even a bowl of silky pigeon soup that looked as comforting as it smelled.

He opened a small, individual box and slid it to Teresa.

It was a little custard bun shaped like a chubby piglet, so cute it almost felt wrong to eat it.

“I got this just for you,” he said quietly.

Teresa’s cheeks flushed pink. “Come on, I’m not a kid anymore. People will laugh,” she grumbled, a bit embarrassed.

Andrew looked at her, eyes full of gentle affection.

“To me, you’ll always be that girl.”

Teresa could only duck her head, fussing with the dishes in front of her, feeling a little flustered.

When Andrew got there, James was already waiting with the breakfast bags. He handed them over and just said, “Don’t tell her I bought these.”

Andrew could tell something was going on between those two, but it wasn’t his business to ask. He could only go along with the story.

Emmy didn’t seem to notice anything.

Yun Shui Yao was one of the best private kitchens in the city. It wasn’t strange for Mr. Aldridge to like the place.

She lowered her head and nibbled at her breakfast quietly.

Teresa glanced at the table, noticing there was enough food for three, and asked Andrew, “Have you eaten? If not, why don’t you join us?”

Andrew paused, thinking James really had thought of everything.

He smiled and nodded. “Sure.”

He and Teresa sat together at the little dining table in the corner and started eating.

Wanting to keep her daughter from overthinking, Teresa grabbed the remote and turned on the TV, switching it to the financial news.

The screen was full of the latest business headlines.

Just as Emmy finished her bowl of pigeon soup, the news segment wrapped up and the broadcast switched over to the morning’s top political stories.
