Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 707

A calm, dignified voice came from the TV. “Cabinet Minister Jared has recently traveled to rural areas, working directly with local communities on poverty relief projects…”

On screen, Jared was dressed in a simple jacket, his smile warm as he shook hands and chatted with villagers. The news anchor couldn’t stop praising him.

“Mr. Nelson has gone right into the fields, visiting every family in need. He’s listening with his heart, walking the land, and helping solve real problems for everyday people…”

“His visit brought hope and fresh energy to this place, like a gentle breeze in spring…”

The scene changed.

“…After wrapping up his work in the villages, Jared rushed straight to the experimental site of the Torch Programme, a project led by Starlight Corporation.”

That was when Emmy appeared on the screen.

She wore a loose cashmere dress, her baby bump still noticeable. Her dark hair was half tied back, and she looked calm and kind as she stood next to a new smart farming machine, explaining something to Jared. The camera lingered on her face for a full ten seconds.

Even though the Torch Programme segment only lasted about a minute, it sent a clear message. This project was now deeply connected to Jared’s political future. It was becoming one of his biggest achievements.

Teresa and Andrew were frozen. Both of them stopped with their forks halfway to their mouths, staring at the TV in disbelief.

It wasn’t until the news segment ended that Teresa snapped out of it. She turned to her daughter, her eyes full of confusion and shock, and finally asked the question so many others had already asked.

“Emmy, why did you get involved in something like agricultural aid?”

She knew Emmy was busy with some project, but she never imagined it would be something that meant getting her hands dirty in the fields.

It wasn’t that she looked down on this kind of work. Actually, she thought it was admirable.

But this kind of work… it just didn’t seem like something her daughter would do.

Emmy was her precious girl, raised with the best of everything, growing up safe and spoiled.

How could she be thinking so deeply about farmers she’d never even met?

“That Sylvia girl seems amazing.”

“It’s rare to see young people these days who care that much about farmers. Please tell her I said she’s doing great.”

Andrew spoke up too, gentle and sincere. “The vision for this project is really impressive.”

He looked at Emmy, his eyes full of pride. “You have great instincts, Emmy. It takes real talent to spot someone like Sylvia and to see the value in a project like this. You need both.”

Emmy just smiled, not saying anything.

The political news ended, and the channel switched back to business reports.

Suddenly, Emmy remembered something.

“Mom, can you change it to the agriculture channel for me?”
