Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 738

The assistant behind him looked uneasy. “Mr. Nelson, if we go straight to Ms. Lincoln like this and Mr. James finds out, won’t he get upset?”

Tyler’s eyes cooled. “His mind isn’t clear anymore, all because of a woman. This is a step I have to take for him.”

Moonlight Bay, the old Drennon family estate.

Two cars pulled into the driveway almost at the same time and parked one after the other. Teresa stepped out of her car and spotted Tyler being helped from his own into a wheelchair. He noticed her too, rolled forward, and nodded politely.

“Teresa, hi. I’m Tyler Nelson, James’s brother.”

He introduced himself, then apologized, his tone genuinely remorseful. “My mother was out of line before. I want to apologize on her behalf.”

“I know this visit is sudden, but there are some things I’d like to discuss with Ms. Lincoln.”

Tyler’s sincerity caught Teresa off guard. She had been ready to turn him away, but now she couldn’t find a reason to refuse.

She sized him up. He had gentle eyes and a quiet, steady presence. Finally, she just said, “I need to ask my daughter first.”

She sent the butler inside. A few minutes later, he returned and bowed his head. “Madam, Miss Lincoln says she’s willing to meet with Mr. Nelson.”

So Teresa led Tyler into the courtyard. They walked through a graceful corridor and into the living room, where Emmy was already waiting on the sofa.

She wore a soft, loose cream-colored loungewear set. Her long hair hung loose and she wore no makeup, but she was still stunning in that quiet, gentle way that was impossible to hide.

She saw them come in but didn’t stand. She only gave a small nod.

Tyler guided his wheelchair to face her and offered a gentle smile. “Looks like you’ve been recovering well, Ms. Lincoln.”

His gaze lingered on her baby bump, then flicked to her rosy cheeks. There was a hint of curiosity in his eyes.

He started to talk, telling the story like it was something distant and sad.

Most of it matched what Abriella had told her, but Tyler’s version added details she’d never heard.

“His mother always believed he brought bad luck. She never liked him, even when he was little. She poured all her love into Jamie, his twin, and made sure James saw every second of it.”

“Everyone loved Jamie. He was bright, talented, the sunshine of the family. James was the one left in the shadows, quiet, withdrawn, ignored.”

“He grew up without a single person truly loving him.”

Tyler paused, his eyes searching Emmy’s face.

“The people who loved him are either gone or sick. And you… Ms. Lincoln, you’re the only one left who still cares about him and is well.”
