Dumped Omega? Now Their Alpha King Begs at My Feet novel Chapter 3

Kai's POV

The boardroom of the Crimson Fang headquarters was my sanctuary of control. Thirty floors up, the city sprawled beneath a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass, a silent testament to our pack's dominance. The long, obsidian table reflected the cool, recessed lighting, polished to a mirror shine. Nothing was out of place.-

"The terms are non-negotiable," I stated, my voice low and cold, cutting through the sterile silence. "The Sterling River pack accepts our acquisition offer by midnight, or we proceed with the hostile takeover. Buy their logistics company out from under them and crush their supply lines by morning. Make them understand that."

My Beta, Jax, a mountain of a man with a steady gaze, nodded once. "They're sentimental about their independence, Alpha."

"Sentimentality is a luxury they can no longer afford," I replied without looking at him, my eyes fixed on the city lights. "Ronan, what's the latest on their key stakeholders?"

My Gamma, Ronan, was leaner, his mind as sharp as his features. He tapped a tablet in front of him. "Three of the five are ready to fold. They fear a price war with us more than they value their Alpha's pride. The other two will follow once the first domino falls."

"Good," I said. "It's not a threat. It's an outcome. Ensure they see the logic."

That's when it happened. My personal phone, sitting face down on the black table, buzzed. It wasn't a ring, not a tune, but a single, specific vibration pattern I had set for one contact line only.

The medical team assigned to my grandfather.

Ice, sharp and sudden, shot through my veins. The air in the room seemed to thin. No one else had that priority code. No social calls. No business partners. Just them.

A cold knot formed in my stomach.

I gripped the phone so hard the high-tech casing creaked in protest, my knuckles bone white.

"Get my car to the front entrance," I snapped, my voice a low, dangerous growl. I was on my feet, pacing, the tightly controlled energy in the room now a maelstrom inside me. I fought to keep my voice from shaking.

"Have the Alpha Guard clear a path to Central Wolf Hospital. I want every light, every intersection from here to there greenlit. I want a straight, open road. No delays."

I didn't wait for a confirmation. My mind was already there, in that hospital room.

"Now!" I ended the call and slammed the phone down on the table.
