Sean clenched his teeth in frustration. Quintessa wasn't giving him any leverage at all.
Trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat, but with no tricks up his sleeve, the ball was entirely in Quintessa's court. This time... agreeing to collaborate was like rolling the dice on a high-stakes poker game.
Finally, Quintessa spoke indifferently, "Don't rush your decision. I'll give you time to think it over. How long you take is up to you. As long as you're alive, it's all the same to me."
Watching Quintessa walk away, Sean wanted to call her back, but then thought better of it. Wait a bit longer, she can't agree too hastily. He needed to go back, give it a good think, and see if he could dig up some dirt on Quintessa to leverage her into helping.
...
Molly quietly followed Quintessa, holding her bag, her eyes shining with admiration, the epitome of a fan girl.
Stepping out of the detention center, the sunlight made Quintessa squint in discomfort.
Molly quickly whipped out a pair of sunglasses for Quintessa and opened a parasol with a flourish. "Sis, let's get to the car, it's sweltering out here."
"Alright!"
They hadn't walked far when Quintessa stopped, noticing a pair of shoes ahead, men's shoes, pricey handcrafted leather loafers.
Quintessa's view was obscured by the parasol, and she hadn't seen the person, first hearing a cool voice: "Ms. Young."
That voice made Quintessa shiver under the sun, she slowly pushed Molly's parasol aside to see Andrew, standing in the sunlight, his complexion pale.
Quintessa's grip tightened involuntarily. What bad luck, running into Andrew here. What was he doing? Was it about Sean too?
Quintessa nodded faintly: "Mr. Yates..."

Molly spat out in disdain, moving to open the car door. Wait, where's the driver? Where's Manny?
Andrew's voice was cold: "Ms. Young's driver is currently in my car, having a chat with my driver."
"You..." Quintessa felt a tightness in her chest, cursing silently. This jerk, using Manny to coerce her.
She said through gritted teeth, "And if I still refuse?"
Andrew smiled faintly: "No worries, there's plenty of time today. I believe I can wait until Ms. Young is willing to talk."
