Enchanted Nightfall Falling for Destiny (Quintessa and Tyrone) novel Chapter 428

Quintessa...

"Who said I agreed? I must've missed the memo," Quintessa retorted with a roll of her eyes.

Tyrone spread his hands with a grin. "I heard it clear as day. I mean, after all the chit-chat with my future mother-in-law, did you really think it was all for nothing? Come on, with my charming looks, deep pockets, and considerate nature, what's not to love?"

Quintessa was at a loss for words. How could anyone be so shamelessly confident?

"You... fine, if you say you heard it, then you heard it," Quintessa sighed, deciding not to argue with the impossible.

Taking a deep breath, the cool, misty air felt refreshing. It seemed to clear her mind a bit.

She glanced at the gravestone and managed a small smile. "Let's head back."

Ever since she heard about Sean's passing, Quintessa had been in a funk, unable to find an outlet for her emotions. She never imagined that Tyrone's constant joking could actually lift her spirits, making the heaviness in her heart evaporate.

Sharing joy and sorrow really did lighten the load, Quintessa thought with a smile.

Tyrone patted Quintessa on the shoulder and bowed respectfully to the gravestone. "Mom, I'll come visit again soon. Just hit me up in a dream if you need anything, and I'll bring it right over."

Quintessa chuckled silently at his words.

Once in the car, Tyrone cranked up the heat. "You really look a lot like my mom. Though, obviously, my mom was the prettier one."
