Even in Darkness She Chose to Rise (Tatiana and Jasper) novel Chapter 115

115 The Interception

What else could she possibly do now?

Without warning, he stood abruptly and strode out of the room.

Right at the company gate.

As Tatiana stepped outside, a voice called out to her.

“Cindy! Are you Cindy?”

She paused, turning around to see a man standing there—his appearance honest and genuine, dressed neatly, his face open and kind.

“Yes, I’m Cindy. And you are?”

He smiled warmly. “It really is you! Haha, I’m Perry. Did your grandmother tell you about me?”

Tatiana immediately understood who he was.

Perry—the blind date set up for today.

“Yes, she mentioned you. I know. But why did you come here?”

“Your grandmother said you work here, so I thought I’d come pick you up after work. I had no idea you worked at such a large company! That’s impressive.”

Tatiana replied without hesitation, “I’m just a cleaner.”

She expected that would disappoint him.

To her surprise, Perry’s face lit up. “Really? Then you must be great at keeping things tidy! I’m terrible at that—always a mess. I hope that doesn’t bother you.”

Tatiana couldn’t help but smile, her eyes curving into gentle crescents.

Even with most of her face hidden, those bright eyes alone held Perry’s attention completely.

Unbeknownst to her, Jasper had just arrived and was watching the scene intently.

His face darkened suddenly.

Tatiana found Perry to be genuinely kind.

He seemed simple but had a great sense of humor.

He kept the conversation flowing naturally, never letting it falter. On their way to dinner, Tatiana found herself laughing more than once.

“This is the place. I think the food’s pretty good—I hope you’ll like it.”

Perry led her into a small, neat restaurant—a cozy spot that was neither too fancy nor too cheap, perfect for a date. It was clear he had put thought into choosing it.

“I wasn’t sure what you’d like, so I asked my coworker’s wife. She said young ladies like you enjoy this place, so I brought you here.”

Tatiana felt a little touched. She hadn’t expected Perry to take this so seriously, which made her own intentions feel somewhat dishonest by comparison. Still, she doubted he would accept her.

“Thank you. I really do like it.”

Together, they stepped inside.

Unseen by them, a sleek black Rolls-Royce was parked quietly by the roadside.

Jasper sat inside, watching them enter through the car window.

His expression was unreadable, but his gaze was fixed unwaveringly.

Felix, who was driving, was drenched in cold sweat, his heart pounding fiercely.

His instincts screamed that the Boss’s mood was dangerously close to exploding.

Inside the restaurant, they took their seats.
