Even in Darkness She Chose to Rise (Tatiana and Jasper) novel Chapter 149

**TITLE: Even the Night Couldn’t Silence Her Light**

**Chapter 149: The Ultimate Prison**

“I’m not hungry! I refuse to eat! I just want to go home!”

Tatiana’s voice echoed with desperation as she rushed toward the door, her heart racing with urgency. She yanked at the handle, but it wouldn’t budge.

“Open the door! I demand to go back!”

A calm voice responded, devoid of empathy. “Without Mr. Jasper’s explicit instruction, you cannot leave this place.”

“Did Jasper order you to lock me in here? Where is he? I need to see him!”

“The boss will return this evening,” the maid replied, her tone unyielding.

Tatiana felt her pulse quicken, anxiety clawing at her insides. “I want to see him now! Immediately!”

The maid remained stoic, her silence a clear indication that Tatiana’s pleas fell on deaf ears.

Frustrated, Tatiana turned back into the room, a storm of emotions brewing within her. She scanned the space for any possible escape route, her mind racing with thoughts of freedom.

But she had severely underestimated Jasper’s methods of confinement.

Standing on the top floor, she peered out of the window, and her heart sank into a chasm of despair.

The villa, perched halfway up the mountain, was enveloped by a dense forest, and a long, winding path was the only link to the outside world.

The scenery was undeniably beautiful, with the fresh air and the vibrant greenery, but it felt like a gilded cage—a spectacular prison.

Surrounded by a cadre of bodyguards, all vigilantly patrolling the grounds, her options for escape were non-existent.

Despair washed over her like a cold wave.

As night descended, the sound of a car crunching on gravel broke the silence outside. Moments later, the door clicked open, and a familiar silhouette stepped inside.

The maid rushed forward to relieve him of his coat, whispering, “Sir, Ms. Tatiana hasn’t eaten or drunk anything. She’s been waiting for you in the living room.”

Jasper merely hummed in acknowledgment, his gaze shifting to the figure curled up on the sofa. He lowered his voice, “Yes, you may leave.”

With a knowing nod, the maid discreetly exited, leaving only the two of them in the dimly lit living room.

Tatiana slowly lifted her head, her expression vacant and hollow. “How long do you plan to keep me locked up?”

He strode toward her, his brow furrowing as he noticed the thin fabric of her shirt. Without a word, he picked up a blanket and draped it over her shoulders.

But in an instant, she tossed the blanket aside, her frustration boiling over. “Jasper, how long are you going to keep me locked up?!”

“I’m not locking you up,” he replied, his tone steady but firm.

“I want to go home! Right this moment!”

“You need to recuperate. Once your health is restored, I will allow you to return.”

“I’m perfectly fine! I’m not sick!”

“Are you hungry? Eat first,” he insisted, his voice softening as he approached her with a tray of food prepared by the maid. The meal was a vibrant array of colors, aromatic and enticing, portioned meticulously by a nutritionist.

But Tatiana couldn’t take it anymore. In a fit of rage, she hurled the bowl to the floor, the sound of shattering ceramic echoing in the room. Her chest heaved with anger. “I won’t eat! I want to go back!”
