The officer quickly explained the situation and the man’s demands. “He’s asking for compensation…”

Jasper ignored him, his gaze fixed on Tatiana, his voice sharp. “Did he touch you?”

She closed her eyes and nodded, bracing herself for the humiliation she expected to follow.

Instead, a sickening thud echoed through the room, followed by a cry of pain.

“He’s attacking him!”

No one had seen it coming. Jasper lashed out, sending the man sprawling with a single, vicious punch.

Tatiana hadn’t expected him to resort to violence. She instinctively reached out. “Don’t.”

Jasper sneered, glancing at the man on the floor. “Haven’t you eaten? You barely scratched him.” The marks on the man’s face were superficial, nothing more.

Tatiana froze, speechless.

The man’s wife mustered a weak protest. “You can’t just hit people! That’s illegal! Officer, arrest him!”

Just then, Jasper’s lawyer arrived and took immediate control. The Jackson family’s legal team was notoriously formidable. Through sharp questioning, they quickly exposed inconsistencies in the man’s story. Cornered, he finally cracked. “So I touched her a little! What’s the big deal?!”

The moment the words were out, he clapped a hand over his mouth, panic in his eyes.

His wife heard and exploded, raining blows on him. “You bastard! You really did touch her! I’ll teach you to touch her! You disgusting old pervert!”

Chaos erupted as officers scrambled to separate the fighting couple.

With the man’s confession, Tatiana was cleared.

She signed the necessary papers and was free to go.

As she was leaving, the officer remarked, “Your husband clearly cares a lot about you, but try to keep him in check. Violence isn’t the answer.”

On the ride back, Tatiana followed Jasper silently into the car.

They arrived at the manor without speaking. She swallowed the words she wanted to say and turned towards her room.

“Stop.”

She paused.

“From now on, a driver will take you wherever you need to go.”

Startled, she immediately refused. “No, I don’t need that.”

He scoffed. “Or would you prefer to keep attracting flies?” He pressed his lips together, a flicker of regret crossing his face.

She whipped around, her shoulders trembling. “So you think I deserved it?”

“Don’t forget, for the time being, you are still Mrs. Jackson. Don’t disgrace the family name.”

They were words of caution, almost concern, but from his lips, they sounded like an accusation.

Tatiana couldn’t bear it. She turned to escape to her room, but he grabbed her wrist, pulling her back sharply.

“Tatiana, you’d better start behaving. You will not go anywhere without my permission. And whatever is going on between you and Chandler, you will bury it. Don’t test my patience.”

“There is nothing going on between me and Chandler!”

He sneered. “Isn’t there? Chandler makes his intentions perfectly clear. Don’t play innocent. Or perhaps you enjoy being pursued?”
