Jasper stopped moving the document, slowly looked up, and narrowed his eyes. “So, he knows Tatiana.”

“That cannot be confirmed, but it is highly probable.”

A dark light flashed in Jasper’s eyes, and a smile touched his lips. “He is indeed connected to Tatiana. Continue to monitor him. Do not alert him. I want to capture her myself.”

Felix’s expression was complex. He did not know why his boss had persistently refused to believe the news of Tatiana’s death.

When she was alive, he was too stingy to even spare a glance.

Now that she was dead, he was searching high and low for her.

Such needless concern.

To keep his job, Felix suppressed his conscience and replied, “Yes, I will instruct them to continue monitoring Baron.”

After work, Felix specifically sought out Tatiana, offering her a piece of pastry, and said with immense gratitude, “Thank you! If it weren’t for you today, I don’t know what I would have done!”

She looked excited and ecstatic. She had been this assistant for a long time, mostly responsible for miscellaneous tasks like tidying the office. Her presence had been very minimal. She never expected to be actively praised today. This was nothing less than an affirmation!

Even though the person who tidied the office in her place today was the little cleaner, it didn’t lessen her happiness.

“I had a bad stomach today. If you hadn’t helped me tidy up, I would have been doomed! Those people are just waiting for me to make a mistake so I can be forced out of Jackson Corp! Hmph, they are all ill–intentioned people!”

Tatiana lowered her eyes and did not say a word.

“Take this cake home to eat. Please don’t tell anyone, okay?”

She carried the cake back to the concrete house, a smile forming as she walked in. “I’m back, and I brought you a cake.”

As soon as she entered the door, she saw Jaime lying motionless on the floor.

“Madam Jaime!”

She quickly helped Jaime up, calling out to her in a panic.

Jaime slowly regained consciousness, her voice weak. “You’re back. I’m fine, just a little tired, and I slept on the ground for a bit.”

This was hardly being tired and sleeping! This was clearly fainting!

Tatiana was nearly in tears, insisting on taking Jaime to the hospital for a check–up, but she absolutely refused to go.

“Why spend that money? I’m fine, just getting a little old and useless. A little rest is all I need.”

Tatiana’s throat was tight, and she couldn’t speak.

She knew Jaime was afraid of spending money. With her presence, her already meager life had become harder.

She hated her own feeling of powerlessness.

Jaime, to prevent her from worrying too much, quickly changed the subject. “Little girl, how was work today? Did anyone give you a hard time?”

Tatiana resembled Jaime’s daughter, who had died young, and she was exceptionally fond of her, wanting to give her all the good things she had.

The identity card Tatiana was currently using was also that of Jaime’s deceased daughter. Over
