Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie) novel Chapter 51

**Chapter 51: Quitting All at Once?**

**Landon’s POV:**

The dawn of a new day greeted me with a sense of urgency. I could no longer stand idly by while Aaliyah endured the weight of injustice. The moment the sun broke over the horizon, I took action. I secured a lavish penthouse for her, strategically located near Thorn Pack territory, through a reputable agency. This would serve as her sanctuary, a temporary retreat from the chaos that had enveloped her life. As the morning unfolded, I dedicated myself to helping her move, gently soothing her frayed nerves in the process.

Aaliyah’s heart ached for Nathan; the mere thought of him caused her to flutter with anticipation. Yet, I knew that for now, patience was the only option. I promised myself that once the dust settled, I would find a way to reunite them, to bring Nathan back to her side where he truly belonged.

However, the brief moment of solace we shared was abruptly shattered. The afternoon brought an urgent call from the HR department, a message that sent ripples of alarm throughout the company. Five key members of Natalie’s team had decided to resign en masse! The news struck like lightning, causing a flurry of activity as higher-ups from various departments took immediate leave to assess the situation.

Without hesitation, Aaliyah and I made our way back to the office, our minds racing with concern.

As we entered, the scene was chaotic. Natalie’s subordinates were busy dismantling their workstations, their expressions a mix of determination and defiance.

“What’s going on here? Quitting all at once?” Aaliyah’s voice cut through the air, sharp and demanding. “Who gave you the authority to abandon your positions without following the proper protocols?”

A young female werewolf met Aaliyah’s fiery gaze with an unnerving calmness. “Ms. Cooper, we submitted our electronic resignations as required. You can take your time approving them, but as of now, we’re on our annual leave.”

Another voice chimed in, laced with a mocking tone, “Yeah, when Natalie was around, we hardly took a single vacation. We’ve got plenty of leave saved up.”

Aaliyah’s face paled, her anger palpable. Her pheromones swirled around her, a telltale sign of her rising ire.

“Follow me to my office,” I commanded, my voice firm as I fought to suppress my own frustration. I led the way to the CEO’s office, knowing that I typically wouldn’t intervene in matters of resignation. But the company was teetering on the edge, and these individuals were crucial to our operations. Ignoring this situation was not an option.

Aaliyah stood there, visibly shaken, her eyes following the five resigning employees as they brushed past her, their indifference cutting deep.

Once we were in the office, I wasted no time. “Did Natalie orchestrate this?” I asked, my tone direct. It was the only explanation that made sense.

Natalie’s team had always been fiercely loyal. The Richardson Group was known for its high turnover, particularly in the project department, but Natalie’s team was an anomaly. They had been with her since their internship days—skilled, dedicated, and unwavering in their support. They had often joked that they would never leave as long as Natalie remained at the helm.

“It’s our own decision, and it has nothing to do with Natalie,” the lead female werewolf responded, her demeanor steady.

“Yeah, we appreciate everything you’ve done for us, Mr. Richardson,” another chimed in, glancing at her companions, uncertainty flickering in their eyes. “But…”
