At the entrance of the hospital ward.
The moment the bodyguard saw Lillian, he immediately called Brandon.
Brandon happened to be in the car, sitting right beside Martin.
"Dad, it's a call from the hospital."
Martin said, "I knew she'd go."
Brandon quickly answered the phone. After listening for a few seconds, he commanded, "Hold her off, no matter what. We'll be there soon."
Martin fumed, "She just wants to torment your grandmother to death, doesn't she? That's the only way she'll feel at ease. Ever since she got out of prison, she's like a completely different person. How could I have a daughter like this? I should have divorced Eleanor and married Sabrina before she was even born. Then I wouldn't have brought this curse into the world. Why can't she be more like Bella? Why can't she learn from her?"
Brandon could only try to placate him. "Dad, don't work yourself into a state. We can solve the situation with Grandma. A lot can happen in two years of prison, things we can't even imagine. She told a friend she can't have children anymore. Just give her another chance. When we see her, let's just talk things through calmly. She was raised with a silver spoon. Being suddenly thrown into prison for two years, it's normal for her personality to change. We have to take some responsibility for this."
"You're taking her side, Brandon? Are you blaming me?" Martin shot back.
"Dad, I had a hand in sending Lillian to prison two years ago, too. It was all for this family. But seeing how she is now, we can't push her too far."
"Push her too far?" Martin scoffed. "Just wait until we get to the hospital. We'll see who's pushing whom. It's too early to draw conclusions."
At the hospital.
Lillian had little patience. With a wave of her hand, she said, "Go."
Dozens of bodyguards, loaned to her by Leonard, stood at the front. At her command, they clashed directly with the Mercer family's security.
Behind Lillian stood a highly professional medical team. They were the ones who would actually be moving her grandmother.
By the time Martin and Brandon arrived, the fight had already started. It was clear the Mercer family's bodyguards were outmatched and would soon be defeated.
The sight nearly made Martin cough up blood from rage.
"Stop!"
His sharp command did bring the brawl to a halt.
Lillian turned to watch him approach.
Martin strode forward and raised a hand to strike her, but with a mere glance from Lillian, a bodyguard at her side immediately intercepted the blow, blocking Martin.
