Sienna’s POV
While Liam remained still, I turned and whispered “I think, maybe it’s time to start over.”
Instead of answering, he looked up and gave me the impression that it was warming my heart. The verdict follows. Even without words, he understood at that moment.
Noah started to feel drowsy just moments later. He leaned into the sofa, his red robot fleeing from his lap. I gazed at him and smirked.
His first day at school seems to have left him feeling completely drained.
Liam inspected his watch. “It’s almost nine. Carry him to his room with me.”
I nodded. He stood up, leaned back and lifted Noah with great strength. The little boy wrapped his arms around Liam’s neck without waking him up.?… As they made their way towards Noah’s room, I observed Liam carefully place his arms in his bed, adjust the blanket, and kiss him on the forehead before departing.
Liam sat in silence, shutting the door and keeping it quiet. As he came towards me, his steps barely made any impact on the soft wooden floor. The sensation of being warm and a bit empty was still present as I looked towards Noah’s room.
When he was happy, a soft whisper said, “He always goes to sleep early after having had a soothsay.”
The fact that his mind requires rest to remember the positive events of the day.
As I stood, Liam crossed his arms and said softly, “You know him.”
With a small frown, I smiled. “I’m still learning every day. I tried to soothe him, make him laugh or sleep without crying. I looked at him briefly, holding my breath but feeling scared sometimes. Why?! Uneasy that I am not capable of doing enough for him.”
With a long gaze, Liam slowly lifted his head and exclaimed, “Thank you very much. You have made Noah a very loving boy. I can see that.”
Despite the fragile sound, I let out a small smile. “You’re overly generous.”
“No. Just honest.”
This time, he glanced back at me with soft eyes. “I also have a feeling of gratitude. Due to your decision, I am a small component of his world.”
I fell silent. There was still something in his words that resonated with me, but it had a powerful impact on me.
I finally said, “You’re never something you thought you were a part of me. Noah always seems to be happy when you show up.”
I stopped, lowering my gaze, and acknowledged my feelings.
Both of us remained silent for a few seconds. Only the ticking clock and the slight rustling of the wind through

the window were heard.
After taking a deep breath, Liam moved towards the finish line with trembling.
With a gentle whisper, his voice felt as though he was concerned about breaking the fragile bond between us.
After that, I turned around and feigned my attention on cleaning up the cups lying across from the table before he could finish speaking.
“Should I make more tea? I doubt you had completed yours earlier.”
After a brief glance, he nodded in agreement. “Sure.” I concur. Then pause. “If you possess one too, then.”
I smiled and felt relieved as the mood had softened. “OK.”
I proceeded to the kitchen and started heating the kettle.
It was strangely comforting that night when the sound of boiling water echoed. With a soft, steady pat in his back, Liam followed me and stood against the doorway.
“I’m enamored with the scent of this chamomile tea,” he stated.
“Yeah, me too. It softens the feeling of the night.”
He smiled without expression. “You and your choice of words. You always sound like you’re quoting poetry.”
With a grimace on my face, I contemplated writing more than usual.
Liam’s gaze lowered slightly, his tone became more serious. “When you mentioned writing earlier, I thought you were very happy. It is my wish that you continue to do it, regardless of the outcome.”
Upon seeing him, I felt a slight breeze collide with our faces. “I’ll give it ten percent,” I said softly.
After his return to the living room, I remained in there for a moment while watching the reflection of the lamplight dance across the floor. “He fell asleep so fast,” I said softly.
“There’s a lot to talk about today.” Liam looked up and down his face, beaming with delight.
With a softening gaze, my heart rose with warmth. “I was also happy. It resembled uncovering something I had lost from a long time ago.”
Liam’s gaze widened as he approached the subject of our conversation. “Sienna,” pressed lightly, seemed to fear repeating his last words and conveying that they are no longer alone in their struggles.
Upon looking at him, I noticed that his eyes had softened and softened from their previous separation. “I know, “I said softly, but then acknowledged my gratitude for the change in tone.
After nodding, Liam looked back at his cold cup of tea. Although it was a long day for him, he came back home feeling as though merely checking up on Noah and me had sufficed.
“Liam,” I called softly.
After he turned around, I smiled gently to myself. “I’m concerned you’re feeling exhausted from work. What

followed? Get some rest. It’s late.”
He remained silent for a moment before nodding gently. “It’s accurate,” he said, standing up and placing the cup on the table. “I suggest you go to bed as well. Noah will wake up early once more tomorrow.”
I also stood, turning off the little light in the corner. We proceeded to walk together down the hallway and into our rooms. The wooden floor trailed behind us, and there was no sound as we walked down the steps.
As we arrived at my doorstep, I paused. “Good night Liam.”
After nodding, he gazed back at me with a warmth that was not explained. “Good night, Sienna.”
Both of us slowly retreated to our rooms, but our hearts stayed in place.
