When the car stopped, Athena didn’t let him help. She grabbed her suitcase and walked away alone.
There wasn’t a hint of hesitation in her step.
Zaden watched her leave, rubbing his temples.
Tonight had gone horribly wrong.
Athena’s new place was a small studio inside the staff dorms.
She hadn’t planned to stay there before, but Jaylee had already moved in. Jaylee was sitting in the living room watching TV when she heard a knock at the door.
When she opened it, she was stunned to see Athena standing there with her luggage.
“D–Dr. Hall? It’s so late. What are you doing here?” she asked in surprise.
Athena still hadn’t made up her mind about living in the dorms, but here she was, dragging her suitcase inside.
Honestly, she looked like someone who’d just been kicked out.
Did Mr. Storm throw her out? She wondered but quickly pushed the thought away.
Athena never said whether she and Zaden were together or not. Maybe there was nothing between them after all.
“I’m moving in,” Athena said calmly. “You don’t mind, do you?”

Jaylee quickly snapped out of it and smiled at her. “Of course not! This is your dorm, Dr. Hall. I’m just lucky to be sharing it with you. Let me help you with your luggage.”
With that, Jaylee hurried forward to take the bags from her hands.
She picked up Athena’s suitcase and quickly noticed how little she had brought. When Jaylee first moved in, she’d needed five or six huge suitcases. Athena, by comparison, had just one small bag.
Jaylee carried it straight to the biggest bedroom.
“I’d cleaned the place earlier,” she said cheerfully. “Dr. Hall, take a look. If it’s not clean enough, I

Athena glanced around. The room had a bed, a desk, and a few pieces of furniture. It was spotless–clearly scrubbed and arranged with care.
Jaylee was a doctor, and doctors often had a touch of perfectionism. Athena couldn’t find a single thing to complain about. “It’s perfect, Jaylee. Thank you,” Athena said with a smile.
The room looked spotless. Everything was neatly arranged, and there was no need to clean again.
“It’s fine, Jaylee. Thank you,” Athena said with a small smile.
But when she looked at the bare mattress, she found the situation tricky.
She had brought only clothes and a few personal items, no bedding at all.
Jaylee noticed her frown and instantly understood. “Oh, Dr. Hall, you don’t have any sheets or blankets, do you? I have an extra new set. You can use it for now.”
Athena blinked, a little surprised. She hadn’t expected Jaylee to have something prepared. At this hour, she wouldn’t even know where to buy any, and sleeping without bedding would’ve been uncomfortable.
Jaylee hurried off, fetched the set, and even made the bed for her.
Athena felt touched by her kindness. Jaylee was warm, thoughtful, and easy to get along with. “At least let me pay you for it,” Athena said.
Jaylee quickly waved her hands and said to Athena, “Oh, no need for that. I should be the one learning from you! Professor Warner told me you used to be really skilled. If I can work under your guidance, I’m sure I’ll improve fast.”
Athena smiled helplessly. Since Jaylee refused, there was no point in insisting.
Still, she quietly promised herself she would find a way to repay this sweet girl someday.
After spending the whole evening packing, Athena finally had a moment to rest. She took a long shower, then lay down on her bed. She noticed she had received a text from Zaden.
It had been sent about 30 minutes ago.
Zaden asked, “Did you make it to the dorm? Do you need any help?”
She stared at the message for a while. He had sent it while she was showering.
After a few seconds of thought, Athena turned off her phone and didn’t reply.
