**Storm Behind Sleeps by George Orwell 124**

**Chapter 1**

“Do you have the capability to perform a dilation procedure?”

The young woman seated before me fidgeted, her nervousness palpable in the air. “My husband is… well, let’s just say he’s quite large. I can hardly cope with him.”

I blinked in surprise. Over the past five years of practicing as a gynecologist, I had encountered an array of requests—everything from tightening procedures to hymen repairs, and all manner of intimate surgeries.

But dilation? That was an unusual request, indeed.

As I conducted her examination, I noted that she was petite, but her size didn’t warrant any surgical intervention.

“You really don’t need this,” I gently urged, hoping to dissuade her from such a drastic decision.

“Please,” she interrupted, her voice rising slightly in desperation.

“My husband is really big, and he’s always so cautious not to hurt me. I can feel how much he restrains himself every single time.”

“I can’t bear to see him suffer like that. Please, just schedule the surgery as soon as possible.”

As her words sank in, my thoughts involuntarily drifted to my own husband, Garrett Hale. He was… impressively endowed. I recalled the times I had bled from our encounters.

A wave of heat rushed to my cheeks, and I quickly dismissed the thought, focusing back on her paperwork.

That’s when the door swung open with a crash, and a man strode in with urgency.

Before I could utter a word, the young woman leaped into his arms.

“Babe!”

A chill raced through my veins.

Because the man she was clinging to, the very man she was seeking surgery for, the one she affectionately called “babe”?

That was MY husband!

Garrett’s eyes widened as he took in the sight of Melody Winters, his brow furrowed in confusion and concern.

“If my assistant hadn’t happened to spot you at the hospital, were you really going to go through with this? Without even telling me?”

“I’ve told you before—I don’t care what I have to endure. Don’t hurt yourself for my sake.”

Her voice was small, tinged with vulnerability.

“But watching you struggle like that every time… it tears me apart,” Garrett replied, his tone laced with genuine anguish.

He reached out, his hand brushing against her cheek, his voice softening in a way I had never witnessed before.

“Silly girl, just having you by my side is all I need.”

“Sex? It means nothing compared to you. I’d give it up forever if that’s what it takes.”

Tears streamed down Melody’s face, glistening in the harsh fluorescent light.

The two of them conversed as if I were invisible, as if I had ceased to exist. Garrett’s entire world had shrunk down to Melody—he didn’t even acknowledge my presence in the room.

**Chapter 1**

I stood there, feeling like an intruder in my own life.

Just the night before, he had held me close, his breath warm against my ear.

Our bodies entwined as he took me again and again, with a raw, hungry passion that left me breathless.

But now? Now he was declaring that he would willingly forsake intimacy for another woman.

“Come on, let’s go home,” Garrett said, attempting to lead Melody away, but she hesitated.

“Babe, I still want the surgery,” she insisted, her voice almost timid.

“I want to make you feel good. And… I want us to have a baby.”

Garrett quickly shot her down.

“Not if it means risking your health.”

As they continued their back-and-forth, a pen rolled off the desk and clattered to the floor.

Garrett’s head snapped around, his gaze locking onto mine, and for a fleeting moment, I saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes, his pupils constricting slightly.
