Chapter 24 Ending Henry
Caroline walked out of the park, then caught a ride deep into a remote mountain forest.

The place was extremely secluded, half–developed at best–normally, not even staff came here, and even hikers rarely wandered this far.
She deliberately chose a steep, desolate spot near a cliff, where a sign a few dozen meters away warned, “Dangerous slope, no entry.”
Once she arrived, she waved her hand and released Henry from her storage space.
When Henry appeared, he realized he was standing right at the cliff’s edge, his face instantly going pale.
“W–Where did I just go? What was that place? What’s happening?”
Caroline looked at him with a beautiful smile. “Henry, do you have any idea what you’ve done to me?”
Henry’s eyes widened, still filled with panic.
Her mind was flooded with memories of all the “evil deeds” Henry had committed against her in her previous life.
Henry tried to step back, but Caroline grabbed his arm and drove a knife straight into his chest.
He struggled, but she stabbed him several more times in quick succession.
As Henry’s eyes gradually lost their light, Caroline shoved him right off the cliff.
Watching his body vanish into the abyss, Caroline sneered. “In our previous life, you were rotten to the core, scheming with Jonathan and Reese. This time, you rushed to provoke me, so don’t blame me for taking the chance to end you.”
With Henry gone, Caroline’s thoughts turned coldly to Reese and Jonathan.
Once the apocalypse came, she would make sure to give those two a special welcome.
Not just a couple of stabs and a shove off a cliff that would be far too easy on them.
As for Henry’s disappearance, just as Caroline expected, no one could find his body.
With Henry’s usual reckless lifestyle, even his parents at first assumed he had run off to mess around somewhere again. They did not worry.
Only after several days did they start to sense something was wrong and report it to the police.
The investigation began, but there were no leads at all.
After all, Henry’s relationships were an utter mess.
Even while he was trying to flirt with Caroline, he was also stringing along four or five other girls–chatting with them more often than with her.
The police questioned Caroline as well, but with no evidence pointing to her, they only took a statement.
After all, her storage space was a divine tool.
And so, the rest of the summer slipped by in a routine of morning exercise, shopping, cooking, and stockpiling supplies.
Soon enough, it was almost time for school to start again.
Caroline glanced at her own arms, already showing the early signs of muscle definition.
Some of her agily from her previous life had also returned.
Her dog Raven had grown bigger too–its wounds healed, its coat glossy, its chest muscles firm and strong.

Most of the things Caroline had ordered online had arrived. They were clothes, a generator, solar panels, daily necessities, food, snacks, dog food–everything was ready.
LOnly a batch of bulk grain she had ordered had not arrived yet, though it was expected within a few days.
Even so, her money was not gone.
She still had over ten million left.
Though she had already stockpiled plenty of food, clothing, and supplies, one could never have too much.
Still, Caroline wanted to put the remaining money to even better use.
She did not intend to blow it all on hoarding now–when the apocalypse first began, she would have had the chance to do a second wave of collection.
She might even get more than she could right now.
What Caroline did not expect was that the end times would arrive earlier than she remembered.
She recalled it vividly.
At first, the world was covered in steady rainfall for about ten days.
At that stage, the rain was not acidic, and it was not heavy, so people could still move around as usual.
However, once those ten days were over, the rainfall suddenly intensified, and acid appeared in the water.
Some people who went out without umbrellas came back with red rashes on their faces.
Others had even worse reactions–their hands developed open sores.
The news warned that pollution had made the rainwater toxic, urging everyone to carry umbrellas or wear raincoats and never expose bare skin.
What no one expected was that about five days later, the acidity of the rain suddenly spiked.
Umbrellas dissolved after only ten minutes under the rainfall.
Then, vehicles and even houses exposed to it began to corrode.
People could no longer leave their homes at all. Society itself began to collapse.
The apocalypse had truly arrived.
Caroline called the school, saying she was sick and could not attend classes.
At the same time, she carefully went through her money and supplies once more.
