Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 109

**The Unseen Kingdom That Followed Me Into Every Dream by Alyndra Meron Valeen 109**

What was it that had led me to this moment? Since when had I ever agreed to belong to anyone, even for just a fleeting day? The thought lingered like a shadow, gnawing at my mind.

“No way! Are you genuinely the composed, chaste type? I adore guys like you!” Her voice was a mix of surprise and excitement, a melodic gasp that seemed to echo in the crowded hall. “Today must be my lucky day! I’m Desiree Lovette! How about dinner together?”

Desiree was quick to seize the opportunity presented by our close proximity. Her intentions were clear, and she was determined to achieve her goal today, regardless of the circumstances.

“Ms. Lovette, please, I must insist you calm down!” Baron intervened with a firm but measured tone, stepping in between us as if to shield me from her exuberance.

His presence was effective, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me.

Desiree, perhaps emboldened by the fact that we appeared to be of similar ages, seemed to feel at ease making such bold advances. I must have looked like a mild-mannered gentleman, someone who wouldn’t easily reject her flirtations.

But Baron was a formidable figure, a large, middle-aged man with years of experience that dwarfed her youthful enthusiasm. His stature, combined with his authoritative role as the head of Baron Inc., one of the most influential corporations in the city, served to remind her that this was not the time or place for such antics.

“Mr. Goldman! I… I understand,” she stammered, her confidence faltering under Baron’s watchful gaze.

“The forum is still in progress, Ms. Lovette. Kindly take your seat. We have matters to attend to,” Baron stated, his voice commanding as he turned to address the audience. “Quiet down, everyone!”

Slowly, the buzz of conversation faded, and a hush fell over the room.

Baron was a titan in the business community, and the companies present at the forum were mostly small to mid-sized enterprises, all eager to gain favor with Baron Inc. His words carried weight, and the atmosphere was thick with anticipation.

With a deep breath, I returned to the stage, my heart racing.

Desiree’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she watched me intently, her gaze unwavering.

I forced a polite smile and gestured toward the stairs, hoping to defuse the tension. “You may leave now, Ms. Lovette. Next, please?”

With a playful wink and a flirtatious blow of a kiss, she began her descent. “See you later, mister…”

I coughed to regain my composure and called the next CEO to present their proposal, trying to shake off the lingering effects of her attention.

Unbeknownst to Sebastian, a tempest of jealousy brewed within Hera, simmering just beneath the surface.
