**The Unseen Kingdom That Followed Me Into Every Dream**
*by Alyndra Meron Valeen*
“Don’t go just yet, Master! Allow me the pleasure of seeing you off with a bottle of our finest wine!” Baron called out, his voice ringing with a mix of joviality and urgency.
Lucas lingered in the office, feeling utterly helpless. He wiped the beads of sweat from his brow, a nervous habit he had developed over the years.
“Did I mess up somehow?” he murmured to himself, his voice barely above a whisper. “I had no choice but to convey that message. They’re a married couple, for heaven’s sake! What if they manage to rekindle their relationship? What if they discuss this incident and realize I failed to deliver Ms. Bishop’s message? What will become of me then?”
A grimace spread across his face as he let out a heavy sigh, the weight of his worries pressing down on him. “Life always seems to throw us grunts into the deep end, doesn’t it?”
He took a moment to collect his scattered thoughts, forcing himself to regain composure. He had a busy agenda ahead, and he needed to focus. He had made the decision to avoid any encounters with Desiree or Hera. Desiree was merely an intruder in this delicate situation, and he felt no obligation to keep her in the loop. As for Hera, he had delegated the task of delivering the response to an uninformed employee, hoping to distance himself from the fallout.
Lucas steeled his resolve to steer clear of any entanglements, determined to find a way out of this mess.
Meanwhile, Baron had just seen Sebastian off from the grand façade of Baron Inc. As he watched the sleek car vanish into the distance, a broad grin stretched across his face, illuminating his features with delight.
“By the gods, I’ve struck gold! Who could have imagined that this little princeling possessed such remarkable talent? I can already envision it—he will revolutionize the entire city! Astergrad’s business landscape is on the brink of transformation!” he exclaimed, his excitement palpable.
“From this day forward, he shall be recognized as a prodigy. I will ascend alongside him in status and power… and bask in the favor of the illustrious Grimwald family!”
Baron’s mind raced ahead, plotting a celebration in the only way he knew how: surrounded by the beauty of alluring women, their laughter mingling with the clinking of glasses.
Just then, his phone rang, and the sight of the name flashing on the screen instantly dampened his exuberance.
Why was Julius so displeased? Hadn’t he wanted his grandson to flourish quickly?
“Do you grasp why I insist on keeping him in Astergrad? Why I don’t want him returning to Enbarr just yet?” Julius inquired, his voice steady yet laden with underlying urgency.
Baron felt the impact of those words resonate within him, as if struck by a blacksmith’s hammer.
“B-Because you wish to test him? To ascertain whether he possesses the talent and potential to become the family’s heir?”
Julius nodded slowly, the gravity of his gaze unwavering. “That is one reason, but it is not the sole reason. I need him to maintain a low profile. I want him to forge alliances and accumulate resources before he makes his way back home.”
