Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 148

**The Unseen Kingdom That Followed Me Into Every Dream**
*by Alyndra Meron Valeen*

Terry loathed Sebastian with a passion that simmered just beneath the surface. Every fiber of his being was consumed with disdain for the man he deemed worthless, a mere shadow of the legacy he represented. And now, Metis, with her unwavering conviction, expected him to apologize to this insufferable wretch? It was beyond comprehension.

The very thought of uttering an apology felt like a betrayal, a surrender of his pride that he could not fathom. Just as he opened his mouth to protest, a sharp jolt of pain shot through his knee as Harvey intervened. The old man’s cane struck with precision, forcing Terry to drop to one leg, his disbelief morphing into a mixture of anger and humiliation.

“Grandpa?” Terry gasped, looking up at the man who had always been his protector, now wielding authority against him.

“On your knees, Terry. Apologize!” Harvey’s voice was firm, his expression grave. “The Amos family may endure without your pride, but it cannot survive without me.” His words cut through the air like a knife, heavy with the weight of desperation.

As Terry knelt, the feeling was akin to being thrust into a cauldron of boiling oil. The heat of shame enveloped him, but he was powerless to resist the command. Through gritted teeth, he forced the words out, each syllable laced with bitterness. “Fine. Fine! I… I am sorry!”

The proud scion of the Amos family had bent the knee to a mere nobody, and the irony was not lost on him.

Metis stepped forward, her gaze sweeping over the scene with an intensity that felt almost palpable. “Are you satisfied?” she asked, her tone soft yet firm.

In that moment, she resembled a young woman on a mission, determined to reclaim her lover’s dignity. It struck Terry as odd; he had never witnessed Hera display such raw emotion for him, her fierce spirit igniting a spark of admiration within him.

“Yeah. It’s fine,” I replied, my eyes narrowing as I studied Terry’s contorted expression. “Stop treating people like trash. And leave that young woman alone. That’s all I ask.”

Metis’s eyes turned icy as they fixed on Terry. “He forgave you. Where’s your gratitude?” Her words landed like another slap, sharper and more cutting than the first. Terry felt his heart race, a surge of indignation threatening to overwhelm him. “I can’t fucking beli—”
