**The Unseen Kingdom That Followed Me Into Every Dream**
**by Alyndra Meron Valeen**
Metis’ eyes widened in surprise, her reaction far from what I had anticipated. Instead of reprimanding me, she erupted into laughter, her joy infectious and unexpected in the tense atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the Amoses stood there, frozen in a tableau of shock, their bodies trembling with barely contained fury. The air was thick with unspoken tension, a storm brewing just beneath the surface.
Terry, unable to contain himself any longer, spun around to face us, his voice dripping with anger. “I can’t fucking stand these pricks!” The words were like a match thrown into dry kindling, igniting the already volatile situation.
He was on the verge of launching himself at them when Harvey, quick as a flash, yanked him back by the arm, his grip firm and resolute. “No! We’re leaving! Your grandfather’s life depends on her. We don’t have a choice!” Harvey’s voice was sharp, laced with exhaustion that seemed to weigh heavily on him. “Haven’t we been humiliated enough today?” The desperation in his words was palpable, a plea for reason amidst the chaos.
Terry turned, his eyes narrowing as he caught sight of his grandfather, whose face was a mask of barely contained rage. The sight only fueled his determination.
“That’s exactly why I have to do something about this, Grandpa!” he protested, the fire in his voice rising with each word.
Harvey silenced him with a piercing glare, one that spoke volumes about the weight of their family’s history and the unspoken rules they had always followed. Without exchanging another word, they climbed into the car, the silence between them thick and heavy.
As the vehicle pulled away, Terry’s anger boiled over, a tempest of frustration and resolve. “I can’t… I can’t just let this slide, Grandpa! I won’t stand for it!” His voice was a mixture of defiance and desperation, a young man unwilling to accept the injustices laid before him.
“And you think I can?” Harvey shot back, his eyes closed but his voice sharp and dangerous, like a blade drawn in the dark. “Our family has never been treated with such contempt in all our history. Never. But Dr. Fey won’t be here forever. Once she’s gone… what will stop us from crushing him beneath our boots?” The bloodlust in his tone sent a shiver down Terry’s spine.
Harvey’s eyes snapped open, gleaming with a fierce intensity that sent a thrill through Terry. He met his grandfather’s gaze, understanding dawning on him. “Oh, I get it!” A sense of excitement surged through him, a rush of adrenaline. The day when Sebastian would face his reckoning was on the horizon, and he could almost taste the sweet victory.
Meanwhile, the restaurant lay in ruins, a chaotic scene of broken glass and overturned chairs. Baron’s injuries were severe, and his bodyguards rushed to his side, lifting him with utmost care, urgency driving their every action as they prepared to get him to a hospital.
